"Dinner was fantastic, I ordered the steak medium and it came perfectly pink inside. The half duck was a very generous portion and very delicious as well. The only problem was we had to wait over half an hour for the food and we were starving, but other than that, it was fantastic. We had breakfast here as well and it was great."
"The overall experience was disappointing as we had to endure a gap of 40 minutes between finishing starter and receiving main course. We finished our starter at 5.05pm, dishes taken away at 5.15. At 5.30 I asked staff member about main course delay and she said she would check on the delay. She did not come back to my table (even though she still attended other nearby tables ) until I called her over again at 5.45 and as she was talking to me the main course arrived. She said the delay was because the food was cooked from scratch. I ordered roast beef which most certainly was not just cooked after I ordered it. It was 40 minutes after i finished my starter,, We were offered free desserts which were promptly served and both were excellent. The place was not full so i was disappointed with delay in the service."
"An excellent atmosphere awaits you here and great food. The staff are excellent and provide a great service. This place is well worth a visit and is very centrally located. There is an underground car park at the hotel which is a bit tricky to navigate as it's a very tight drive going down to it but there was a new entrance that was to be open shortly at the hotel so it should make it that bit easier. Overall the place to be in the town."
"Staff were really nice and welcoming but food let this place down. Dry rub chicken wings were very overpowering and salty. The steak burger was quite tasteless. First time here and I’ve heard nice things so perhaps it was a once off!"
"The waiting staff are friendly and efficient. The room is spacious and there is a good ambience. Unfortunately, the food is very average, with a not very interesting menu and poor value. The choice of wine by the glass is limited too and the menu is weighted towards New World wines with all the airmiles that involves. There were no French wines, for example."
