"Stopped off 4 nights last week while on a boating holiday. First of all Gus and his team help you to mooring which helped as I had a broken ankle and we has a dog. The atmosphere was great in the pub. Wine and porety. Staff very friendly and attentive. We had cod and chips ( biggest piece I've ever seen), beef burger, steak pudding very tasty and and really good. But the Pork Belly is to die for. Best I have ever had. Thank you Ferry Inn for making our holiday really good. Rekha, Miles and Marley the dog."

"Great for kids with amusements and playground! 2 pool tables! Lovely views of the broads and plenty of space/tables both inside and out. Food is a bit pricey for what you get. Drinks are a great price. Overall a great pub."

"I wouldn’t say this is the best pub in Horning - location wise it is on the river side - possibly it’s most redeeming feature… however the whole place had a tired feel to it. The decor was old - in need of updating I would argue and the place just seemed lacklustre. The bar staff were friendly and somehow managed to work alongside scores of wasps that hovered here and there about the cider pumps. During our visit there were many empty glasses and some litter left around. We sat outside and within minutes were hounded by blood thirsty wasps. Not a simple hover fly or two, but swarms and swathes of the pests that continually buzzed about our glasses and bottle necks. Hundreds - if not thousands of the damn things seemed to haunt us whilst trying to relax at riverside — but this could not be achieved by someone like me who has a deep rooted fear of flying insects. We didn’t stay for food (who would in this situation?) but I did see some semi empty plates in the restaurant dining area (again covered in wasps - owing to my imagination that the pub serves wasps for lunch also…). There was an arcade area and pool tables outside for kids to play - as well as a play park - making this a suitable place for family dining and I would imagine during peak trading it would become quite packed. For me though - I was glad to get out of this wasp infestation and find more a better venue where I could relax with my drink next to the beautiful river Bure."

"The Ferry Inn has been a firm favourite over the last couple of years for a solid decent carvery. We booked to seat nine Easter Sunday with family visiting I told them this was, hands down, the place to eat and their roast potatoes are unrivalled ! Sadly, on this visit the standards certainly have slipped. The place was busy but not packed at all. Quality of carvery was a little disappointing with the flagship (by my standards) roast potatoes no longer being as they used to be and now just the fast oily burnt cornered potatoes likes of which are found in the slap dash castle carvery establishments. “It’s just a roast potatoes he whinging about I hear you say” it’s not ! It was a long journey to the holy grail of roasties which I guess is now nothing more than a nostalgic memory. I digress, the service was astonishing, to have the drinks arrive halfway through our meal was the best we were gonna get. The rest had to be chased three (3!) times after the meal had finished and the final drink had to be hunted down. Apologies had been made which, okay that’s fair it’s busy. But then I remembered draft coke doesn’t require the same level of skill portrayed by Tom Cruise in “cocktail” so it’s was a deflating experience paying the £170 bill. It’s a shame, I’m giving three stars as it hurts to give you less but honestly, you don’t deserve. It my wallet aches as much as my yearn for the carvery I recall."
