Welcome to Seven Stars, one of Brighton's most iconic and historically significant institutions. Located in the heart of the city at 27 Ship St, Seven Stars is a bar, restaurant, and point of interest all rolled into one. The charming and cozy location has been a staple of Brighton's social scene for over four centuries, having first opened its doors in the 1600s. Today, Seven Stars continues to be a beloved space for locals and visitors alike.
As you step into Seven Stars, you'll be greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior retains a sense of the old-world charm that the establishment is known for, with wooden beams, fireplaces, and historic decor. The space has a timeless feel that is both enchanting and comforting. The menu at Seven Stars is filled with delicious and hearty dishes that perfectly complement the atmosphere. From classic British pub fare to modern twists on old favorites, there is something for everyone. The restaurant uses only the freshest ingredients, and the menu changes regularly based on seasonal availability. Pair your meal with one of the many drinks on offer, including a great selection of beers, ciders, and wines.
At Seven Stars, we take pride in being more than just a restaurant or bar. The institution is an important point of interest in Brighton's history, and we love sharing its story with visitors. The building has stood through wars, revolutions, and countless changes in the world around it. Despite everything, Seven Stars has remained a constant in the city's landscape, continuing to offer a welcoming and friendly space to all who visit. Reviews of Seven Stars
"We ate here on Sunday and the jazz in the background is a selling point. The staff are also very attentive and welcoming, however, I wasn't overly impressed by the food. Being in brighton I expected the prawns for starter to be plump and large but they were actually tiny with little flavour and seemed to be frozen ones rather than fresh. The beef was nice but I was a little underwhelmed by the veg. The desserts were better but the fruit salad was mostly orange and apple and I would have liked a bit more variety. If you are staying at the hotel this is a good choice if weather isn't great but I wouldn't recommend to travel for the lunch which is a pity as the staff are really great."
"Great pub with a fancy bar like feel. Amazing atmosphere. Did not eat here but the menu and the food that came out looked good. Dog friendly!"
"Great pub went here for a couple of drinks before going to see Richard Ashcroft at the Brighton center. Great selection of drinks. Lovely, funky, decor, and on on a Saturday night that we visited some great tunes, wham, club tropicana followed by fools gold, the stone roses, music for all ages. I'm a young 49 year old, but felt comfortable in this laid back pub. Staff and bouncers were very friendly too. Well definitely go back here when we visit Brighton again."
"Nice spot to have drinks. We liked the live music but it was too loud so we couldn’t talk. They have a special offer: 2 drinks for £15 on the same cocktail, what I find very nice. I can really recommend the peach cosmopolitan. All in one the location is very nice and I’ll definitely go there again."
"Had a Sunday roast here and it definitely exceeded expectations!! Tried both the beef and the pork belly and both were very well cooked. Veggies and Yorkshire pudding were up to a good standard. Good beer selection as well, and the pub is very cozy. Recommended!!"
