Reviews of Benito's Italian Restaurant
"Popped in on a cold February bank holiday evening for a lite dinner. Never been before, but absolutely will be back. The special soup was Pea, which was amazing, quite literally the best pea soup I have ever had. With some small molten balls of goat's cheese and some wafer thin crispy prosciutto, I was very pleasantly surprised at this elevated starter. For main, we had had a simple pasta ragu, and again, it was an elevated surprise, firm dense fresh pasta was sublime. Lucky for the locals who live nearby, and worth some travel for those who don't. Fantastic. Downstairs was full (a good sign) so we were seated in the pleasant upstairs section, comfortable seating and nice decor and lighting and music all combined to make our meal a much more pleasant experience than we would have expected. Pleasant staff and service topped off the evening."
"Went here for a birthday dinner with the family and was very impressed! Food was full of flavour and great portion size. Loved the decor and the atmosphere, will be back!"
"First, the food was incredible, well made and fantastic, fresh flavours. However, the service was about the worst I’ve ever had. I’m only leaving this review so the owner can take action as this place deserves more stars. We were early for dinner and one of a few tables. It took 15 minutes from arrival at 5pm to order wine and I had to get up to ask for it. When that arrived we were again ignored for 15min. The appetizer came really fast but without utensil’s so I stand for my third time in 40min. When dinner came my partner did not get the soup she ordered. The staff spent their entire time fixing their hair, chatting and staring at anything but us. It’s not that they weren’t polite, they were just clueless children with no guidance. A manager on duty paying attention to this issue is a simple fix, but also an essential one. I would go back, but now I’d be afraid of revenge, so I’ll just say. Pay attention to your customers! Tell your cooks they are freaking incredible."
"Our favourite local restaurant. All ingredients are super fresh, pizza dough is thin & crispy and their Pistachio/ Tiramisu ice cream are absolutely to die for!!!"
"What a great place. With great food and excellent staff. There was 10 of us and I can’t say there was a bad meal amongst us. Defo be back."
