"Extortionate and exploitative. I popped in to buy a birthday bouquet at the last minute but only when later showing friends what I’d bought and for how much, did I realise quite how much of a mug I’d been. I’ve never bought flowers from an independent florists before, so didn’t really know what I was doing. Seems they saw me coming and I got thoroughly ripped off. The staff showed me a bouquet and told me it was £80. As it was obvious I was out of my depth, they offered to make something up for £35. I guess I was too embarrassed to leave so it’s on me. But I was later told that 7 flower stems with some cursory foliage for £35 was daylight robbery. Yep. That’s a fiver a flower. Perhaps I’m naive. They lasted 3 days in a vase. So obviously weren’t fresh either. Rinsed."
