Reviews of Smugglers Inn
"Visited Smugglers Inn for hot drink then lunch with family. Waitress was friendly & pleasant. Service was good & lunch delicious. Had roasted mediterranean veg & mozzarella panini, served with a light salad which thoroughly enjoyed & devoured rather quickly. When arrived, venue had fire burning in corner of room, giving plenty of heat as day was quite cold. Loved the sea theme decor & appreciated toilets were clean. Food is good value & venue has a dog menu."
"Family grouping of 5. The Sunday carvery was ok, nothing special, just ok. The vegan nut roast felt a bit like an afterthought, unflavored and difficult to discern what exactly was in it. The location is excellent with miles of beach to walk off the calories. Parking is not great, a bit of a free for all, but it is what it is. Shame there is no view as the building is set back slightly, with another tall building obscuring the beach."
"Was just ok. Long wait on food. Is advertised as dog friendly but then moaned at because buddy (my dog) reacts when indoors to other ppl a little barky because he wants to go meet them. Food was just ish burger was well over cooked, it was advertised as comes with skin on chips but just the cheap standard type. And after eating the onion rings left a horrible oily taste in your mouth."
"Really really good. Doggy friendly, portion of doggy sausages pictured . Nice menu dessert was good too forgot the pic though . Highly recommend."
"We dropped in for a bite to eat between Christmas and the New Year. As always, the staff are exceptionally friendly, attentive without being overbearing. We ordered some drinks, sadly the coffee have been forgotten, so we had to remind staff that we’d ordered a coffee when most of us had finished our drinks, I really apologetic and it arrived. The dishes we ordered were the sausage, mash and gravy, the seafood linguine, a jacket potato with tun, and the mixed . Shortly after placing the order and informed by a waitress that an item was missing off of the mixed grill, So I was offered an alternative, and had an extra Piece of steak. the food arrived quickly, and was warm and quite tasty. The only criticism I would have was that the steak was quite fatty and seemed quite poor quality, and the peppercorn sauce, which is an extra is very expensive, you also get offered an extra mixed grill supplement, which I was informed had a tomato and a couple of other items on it but yet again was extremely expensive for what you get considering the mixed grill is nearly £30 without the peppercorn sauce, or the added extra items! Of all the meals, the mixed grill was the worst, and certainly did not seem value for money, however, the three other meals were delicious and good value for the money. This has always been such a good place to grab a drink and a meal being so handy for the beach, and has a very friendly atmosphere, with very friendly and helpful staff."
