About St Chad's Nature Reserve
Welcome to St Chad's Nature Reserve, an idyllic establishment located in the heart of Derby! Our park is a point of interest and tourist attraction that offers visitors the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. We open our gates to nature enthusiasts, families, researchers, and groups every day, all year round.
Nestled in a beautiful wooded valley, our nature reserve covers over 10 hectares of land, offering a variety of habitats for plant and animal life. Our lush woodland, wildflower meadows, and tranquil waterways are home to an incredible range of species, including rare and protected ones.
Our park is a great place to explore and experience nature up close. We have several trails and paths to suit all levels of fitness and ability. Visitors can walk, cycle or jog around the park and take in the beautiful scenery. Children can play in the designated play areas while learning about nature, and dogs are welcome to come and enjoy this great outdoor space.
Our team of expert and passionate naturalists and volunteers are always available to provide guided tours and educational sessions for individuals and groups. We run regular events and workshops, including wildlife walks, bird watching, and conservation activities throughout the year.
St Chad's Nature Reserve is also a great venue for private events, including weddings, fundraising activities, and corporate team building activities. Our indoor and outdoor facilities are well maintained and can be customized to suit your needs.
We are easily accessible by car, public transport or on foot. We offer ample parking space for cars and bicycles, and we are only a short distance from major motorways and public transport routes.
We welcome everyone to come and explore our beautiful nature reserve and be amazed by the beauty of nature. So come and join us at St Chad's Nature Reserve and experience the magic of nature in the heart of Derby!

Reviews of St Chad's Nature Reserve
"Always stunning . Never had any issues here take photos here all the time."
"Lovely place for a short walk. Peaceful."
"A lovely nature reserve although sadly covered in too much dog poo along the paths to warrant five stars. A quick walk around the water followed by a loop around the churchyard and a similar offshoot along the road before returning to the car park. The plaques telling the history of the area were superbly written and well illustrated. Definitely work a look."
"Such a lovely little walk with lots of nature and beautiful scenery. Not a long walk but perfect for people with kids and its pram friendly with lots of benches so you can stop and take in the view. Always clean and tidy and the car park usually has plenty of spaces too."
