"This took place around April 2022 I was invited a few months ago for a group interview and arrived a couple minutes early, to represent myself well. There was no arranged dress code, other than to be yourself. The group interview consisted of activities around the shop, which was mainly hosted by (which I believe), the manager. Towards the end, the manager said to all the interviewees, whilst indirecting me, “at Lovisa we have a dress code, we don’t accept denim or any form of trainers.” At the time, there were a few in trainers but some were styled okay and some looked as if they couldn’t be bothered. I was styled appropriately, wearing a denim jacket and mom-jeans, with stylish trainers. I found it extremely rude, as there was no information addressed to any of the interviewees other than to come as yourself and make a great impression. It’s no one’s fault and completely pointless to mention that at the last minute, rather than prior to the group interview. As well as this, the manager was very much self-centred and kept blabbering about her life; how she likes to travel, her connections to people, her fiancé/husband and things unrelated to the role. When some of the interviewees would talk or try to answer a question, she would interrupt and ask someone else to speak; yet, some if not majority of the interviewees there were clearly shy and were barely speaking. I believe most of them were students, and out of the possible fifteen or sixteen (myself included) that were there in the tight shop, only six of us actually spoke. The whole interview process was a big waste of time, and by the way the staff dress, it’s long patterned skirts and old styled. The store is like a ‘if your face or look fits’ environment, from the group interview or even walking past the shop in general. You might see the odd staff member who might not particularly dress like the others because; they are potentially new, a student with short hours or has a temporary contract. The whole reason for this review is because, I still think about it today, as it’s one of the worst interviews I’ve had. It was a lot worse in person than describing it. This is solely off the recruitment process, not because I wasn’t hired, (which I doubt any of the other interviewees actually were), as I have lots of customer service experience and other skills. I simply applied because, I wanted to gain even more customer service experience and I live extremely local to the store."
"Worst service!!! I went to the till today to purchase some earrings and I was waiting for the person to serve me as she was having a chat with one of her colleagues. She then looked at me to serve me and advised me about the earrings promotion. I then was having issues with the card machine which she wasn’t bothered about so I could’ve walked out without even paying for the jewellery. She then left the card machine on and continued chatting with her colleague and was getting her phone out to her as well. I then paid and she didn’t even bother giving me a bag and wrapped my jewellery up in a bit of paper. After I paid for the earrings, she didn’t even acknowledge my payment and I had to even ask her for a receipt! The service I had with this blonde woman was extremely blunt and overall provided disgusting customer service! I won’t be shopping there again."
"Customer service in the Nottingham branch is absolutely shocking. If I could give a zero I would, they lie about their policies, even when you ask them a direct question. Maybe they need to have more training if they don't know their jobs properly!! Other branches are amazing, Nottingham need to learn the meaning of customer service!!"
"-earrings supposed to be steriling/plated but have given me infected weeping ears after 1 day, in pierced holes that are over 10 years old -no bags available in store, so multiple purchases given back to me in a bit of tissue paper to carry around town. Was so awkward and i was scared to loose them as nowhere to put it to the point I regretting buying anything, wish had been told no bags in advance -staff too busy chatting about stock and their weekend to be helpful -asked if take giftcard, said 'didnt know' and then made no effort to find out if could just wanted the money (there wasnt even a queue and there was another member of staff next to her just sitting there, that she could have asked, but didnt, so I had to) -giftcard was refused because of type (one4all -too many staff for size of store, makes customers feel like an inconveniene for being there Poor enviroment, pretty but overpriced costume jewellery, seem to have forgotten the shop is for the customer not the staff."
"I absolutely love this shop. There are so many unique styles to the jewellery, from simple wear, to party wear, friendship jewellery and jewellery that is so elegant. I find this store very versatile and the jewellery is of good quality. They usually have offers too."
