Reviews of Coiste Na nIarchimi
"My wife and I did three tours with Coiste and every one of them was outstanding. I've done a bit of personal research on the the struggle but Peadar, Gerard, and Jack, through their experiences and connection to the area bring it to life. There is no better way to learn this history than to walk Falls Rd and through Ballymurphy with these men."
"I did several tours with Coiste - a memorable experience. The guides went above and beyond; the admin support was extremely well organised."
"A fascinating, eye-opening tour with a someone who actually lived the history. Coming from family with British paratroopers in it, it was amazing to hear the other side. Eugene was very knowledgable guide as well as very friendly and endearing personality. I went on another one of these tours with another company but the guides didn't feel as real as Eugene, he wore his heart on his sleeve, he told it exactly how it is and didn't hold back. His stories of life as a provo volunteer were fascinating and with their being only 2 of us he managed to keep it really interactive. We got the full story from how he came a member of the IRA, to what life was like before, during and after the peace process. Getting behind the scenes stories about Bobby Sands and others felt like being in a historical movie about The Troubles. I would recommend this tour to anyone, but especially to anyone who grew up in UK only hearing one side of the story, this insight will really open your eyes to the horrors that most Brits know very little about."
"A very interesting and worthwhile tour though maybe a little pricey. Both Rocky and Mark were great guides - both obviously passionate about their beliefs and struggles and happy to share their experiences and personal views. A very good tour as it gives your a perspective from each side. The divide which still exists is just incredible and hard to believe without the direct stories from people who live it every day."
"Pretty entertaining political tour on Falls Road. You get to know a lot of the background of The Troubles. Thought provoking, although if you're a loyalist this might not be the tour for you. Had hoped for a bit more information about the murals we didn't cover and just skipped, but that might have dragged on the tour which was 3 hours already. The glass of Guinness to wrap up the tour was a welcome bonus."
