Reviews of Polhawn Fort
"We had our wedding here in October 2022, and we fell in love with it online before even visiting. Honestly the best venue, the location is just so unique and we didn't find any others comparable. We are in love with this forgotten corner of Cornwall now. The staff were brilliant - helping with loading and unloading up and down a cliff! Always good answering emails with our many questions. On the day they were great with being so flexible about where we chose to get married - we managed to do it outside but they set up inside too just in case. We loved how it was a blank canvas and we had choice in everything from caterers to bar so we could really personalise it. Thank you so much!!"
"A magical, exciting destination wedding. We were all involved in setting up and wandering the beautiful location every day was so amazing relaxing. You are a lucky couple of you get the chance to marry here. Fairies roam the grounds the breezes off the channel are delicious! Thank you for taking such good care of this location."
"Went to a family wedding, beautiful scenery, lovely carvery for main meal very generous with meats which were beautifully cooked, as was starters and desserts. Friendly staff, Rooms nicely decorated for the wedding. Everyone enjoyed it, some family stayed in rooms which were spacious and nice but had to walk through some to get to others so best if rooms booked by family or people who know each other. Quite a few spiral stone steps which could be tricky for anyone with mobility issues ,but also one of the charming features of the old fort. Would definitely enjoy going back for a weekend stay with the stunning scenery and beach below ."
"Visited for my Niece's Wedding day .Beautiful location lovely sunny afternoon so Wedding out on lawns over looking the sea. Great food and service. Lovely in the Evening back outside for the Great sunset."
"Just attended my sons wedding here. Really lovely setting, but you do need to take everything you need. About 11 bedrooms, kitchen, events hall lovely gardens overlooking Whitsand Bay, really outstanding view, private beach. It is an awesome place. He hired private caters and we also did some things ourselves, but it was a lot of work....so best tip...pay someone else to do/provide EVERYTHING and that way you can relax and enjoy yourself."
