Reviews of Riverside
"Lovely campsite with friendly staff and clean facilities. There is all you need here. Not only is it quiet but there are great facilities. There are many showers and toilets for busy times. There are washing machines which are normally priced, coins needed. There are plenty of places to wash up with hot water. Several places taps, chemical dump sites and a grey water drain on the ground for dumping grey water. The shop is helpful too with the essentials and also treats, good prices. In the summer there is a pool and things but I haven't been there then. If you need electric, some plots needs quite long electric cables so be sure to know how long yours is and tell them when booking."
"Just spent the last week here whilst visiting family in the area before we get the ferry to Santander tonight. Absolutely lovely place, very very quiet (out of season), extremely clean with a manicured feel to the lawns and hedges. Staff are great with all sorts of shops a 10 minute walk away."
"We had been advised this was great but I'm afraid the advisors have a lower opinion of what "great" is than we hold. Yes, the site situation is very nice but I'm afraid the owners have a little bit of work to do to fetch it up to a great place. The negatives... shower block- rusty soap trays and a massive gap under the entrance doors. Pathways - there is little or no paths for campers to get to services them having to walk massive diversions along roads to avoid trampsing through pitches. Rubbish bins. These are way down at the entrance to the site - only glass bottle bins are marked so you have to guess where to place recycled stuff. Pitches - the numbers are not visible from the road in the majority of cases (grass), them being painted on a small slab sunk below the grass level. There is also no clear guidance as where you should park your tow vehicle as you often get at other sites. And posters had been put up in a slap dash ort of way using masking tape to secure them to walls. The site map handed to us needs a revamp and cease using the 1980's photocopies. Oh and nearly forgot, the rhythmic low pitched noise like an ancient grandfather clock booming out from 6:30am onwards from the other side of the river - most annoying. One more thing, and this is common to lots of sites, the arrival time needs to be rigorously adhered to and turn early birders away! We left within our leave time and had issues with early arrivals coming up the narrow approach lane. They need to make it clear that campers should not arrive before the time given."
"One of the best sites we've stayed on in this price range. Great facilities including a clean swimming pool, games room and play area. Toilet/shower blocks kept clean. Nice bar with occasional entertainment. Very nice food, friendly staff who offer tips and advice for visiting places in the area. Feels peaceful and remote despite it's close proximity to a shopping centre and main roads."
"What a Lovely Campsite, The Staff were so easy going and helpful. The food was really lovely and a really fair price. The site is in a great location to all amenities. You also have the bonus of riverside and woodland walks. Wish we were here longer as it was a stopover from getting off ferry at Plymouth. It was a nice easy drive from ferry to campsite, no nasty hills etc especially when towing. This site has the added bonus of a large car park that you can by arrangement stop in there with electric hookup for the night if you are catching an early ferry or evening arrival. Overall I would definitely recommend this beautiful site. A Big Thank you to all the staff for a great Stay."
