"Having used chatwin for many years I'm sad to say that the customer service has declined. I took in some repairs and the lady just stared at me from the far end of the shop. She made no attempt to move or even to greet me. I spoke first and was greeted with frostiness. I felt very unwelcome and started to wish I'd gone elsewhere. Her tone and manner were not conducive to a good atmosphere and usually as a watch collector, I would've browsed the items. I'd taken my most recent repair in on good Friday and her manner led me to believe she certainly did not want to be there. She was indifferent and acted superior . I think it's very sad that a fine shop with such a good reputation should be let down in this way. I hope this can be used in a constructive way and that customers can once again feel welcome. This is in no way a personal thing .purely an observation of my experience. Update In addition I can now say the level of service has improved..so it would appear the staff have adjusted Thier views and are working towards customer satisfaction. My most recent visit was great. Thank you"

"Very unwelcoming (apart from the gentleman who tried to help) however the 3 women gave an awful reception and they were easy to dismiss business, maybe this was because they were too busy having a chat and drinking there processco at 4pm on a Friday afternoon...very unprofessional. I also thought closing times were 5.30? Just a bit of advice if you are not willing to help your customers/ are closed, change your opening times on your website and shut your shutters! Never will I recommend anyone to go go to Chatwins just because of the reception and I felt an inconvenience. Safe to say I took my business where they appreciated any customer that walked through there door!!! I'm glad to see after reading there recent reviews I'm not the only one who has experience there awful customer service skills!"

"Sent my son to get a quote for a repair on a tissot watch. They took the watch and 3 weeks later gave a quote for £320 for a repair. This was a bezel that had come off from around the watch face which he had retained. He declined the offer at which point THEY REFUSED TO GIVE HIM HIS WATCH BACK WITHOUT PAYING £20 FOR THE QUOTE! Unfortunately he paid after questioning them. I was annoyed so sent the watch direct to Tissot, within 3 days we had a price of £78 to fix,within a week the watch was posted back in a free case.......... So why £320 and why blackmail my son £20!"

"I don't often leave reviews but I came into this shop once wanting a new wedding band and was offended that although I had the money to pay I was made to feel like a pauper. The woman told me 'yes we have some but they are not cheap' assuming that I had no money, I guess my appearance wasn't as high maintenance as she would expect of a full time worker who can pay her own way so this was an insult. The next time I went in with a gold bracelet to fix she couldn't have been more helpful, funny that"

"It’s rare that I leave feedback good or bad, however in this instance I’ll make an exception. Whilst on a rest day we had to pop into Cannock to grab a spare pair of shoes for my little one. During the trip we decided to see what platinum wedding rings were available. The reception at the store was shocking. Three times we were told the rings were very expensive, (felt like the scene out of pretty women) on the third time I took the opportunity to show the assistant my Audemars Piguet Royal Oak chronograph. £61k. (Which was on my wrist) (Sales assistant had no idea what it was - shocker!!) I love the fact this store didn’t take a penny of my money but more importantly please do not waste your time at this store. I’m fortunate enough to be well connected enough to start spreading the word about this store, let’s be honest chance are I wouldn’t have brought from here anyway, but when your told the owners not in today he’s taking jewellery to the jewellery quarter for repairs. Do yourself a favour go to the jewellery quarter and cut out the cheesy middle men. Also I was told if you come back on a Tuesday the owner will be here( but please call the shop first to make sure he is here)!! Seriously can this store do anything more to turn customers away ! Anyway Rant over. Back to chamber and dreams... wealth my friend wealth!"
