"Neglected care plan, didn't listen to my concerns and when I complained they lied about me in my medical notes. Experienced racist overtones and told by the consultant psychiatrist that if I was nicer person I would get better care. When did the quality of care become dependant on your moral character or lack of behavioural distress at presentation. They want fully compliant patients who don't ask questions and abuse the power imbalance. Some staff members should not be working in the mental health field with the attitudes and the treatment of clients. Had to leave the UK partially because of them. Please record every encounter, always have a witness present and goggle "Plymouth mental health advocate" to get representation if needed. Please always look after yourself when engaging with so called "professionals" and remember you are the expert when it comes to your own body and how you feel. Clearly a lack of compassion and professionalism at this clinic and these poor practices are often endemic due to poor management and larger cultural views of those with mental health struggles still not treated with parity with those with physical health challenges."
