Reviews of National Trust - Divis and the Black Mountain
"Great walks here just above Belfast. The imposing Black Mountain can be seen from all over Belfast. It is very worth the short drive up the mountain to see the views. The walks are fairly straightforward with good paths and 3 signposted walk options: 30mins, 90mins and 2 hrs. Great views and a chance to catch some fresh air. When there drop into The Barn Cafe."
"Visited 02/01/2023, advise to get to site early if driving as this was a bank holiday and parking was at capacity. The long route along the main road path to the summit is accessible for prams but wouldn’t advise taking the summit trail once at top as the path is more for walks without very young children, we had a two yr old so pram was best bet this visit. I would advise due to the wind levels and inclement weather which changes at short notice to take waterproof clothing, gloves, hats etc and stay warm (unless the height of summer). Great location with equally great views and recommend visiting ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
"Great area for a refreshing walk with a choice of marked trails to follow. Trails are a mixture of rough stone slabs and hard-packed stone and gravel. Some of the more sensitive "Bog" areas have wooden duckboards just above the surface to protect the underlaying ecosystem. Not really a "Big Mountain", but chilly enough even on a summers day so take a jacket just in case. Fantastic views over Belfast and most of Co. Down. Overall, not too challenging if you take your time, relax and enjoy the walk. Car parking, cafe and toilets at the starting point. The place is pristine, yet, as usual, there is always some A-Hole who leaves rubbish behind. Clearly these performance drinks don't work if they haven't even the energy to carry their empty bottles home!"
"Great walk today over and around the mountain. Not a difficult walk at all and you have great views of Lough Neigh, Belfast Lough & of course Belfast and right down to the mournes. Couple of carparks and a coffee shop. Highly recommended on a clear dry day."
