Reviews of Blagdon Lake
"Gorgeous all year round, slightly less water in the lake and mud on the paths during summer"
"One of the secret gems of village walks in Somerset. A circular optional direction loop with beautiful views across the lake from multiple locations. The historical pump house building looks fantastic and Bristol Waterworks weir. The wildlife surrounding the area is abundant, pheasants, European birds, deer, squirrels, pheasant, woodpeckers, finch, ducks and so much more. The walk across the pump house dam is fabulous, with woodland walks & farmland field paths lead you through some of the quaint local villages. The barn conversions and property redevelopment in the area are a spectacle themselves. Passing the famous Yeo Valley Yoghurt factory and taking the ancient path back up towards East End and Blagdon village. Parking outside the Blagdon fire station is perfect, a slow descent down to the lake and a perfect spot for the new dog friendly cafe that’s recently opened in the village, the Coffee Station is well worth a visit before your walk or after."
"The lake has public walks on part of the North shore, but it is NOT a swimming venue - swimming is not allowed - it is available by day ticket for fly fishing and bird watching by day ticket available via the Bristol Water website. My 5 star review is for fly fishing, which is excellent!"
"Remote flat walk around the quiet reservoir with plenty of sunny benches to sit and enjoy views"
"Enjoyed a 5 mile walk"
