Reviews of Theatre On The Steps
"Visited to see a show in the evening. I would recommend arriving in Bridgnorth early and having dinner in town or something because finding parking was a big challenge. We ended up parking in a loading bay, but we didn't get a ticket. No issue for us but fyi this venue is NOT wheelchair friendly... You have to park at a distance (even nearest spaces) and negotiate a lot of steps.... It's perched on the side of a cliff. I regretted not pausing for breath on the way back up those steps! Once inside it's tiny and intimate, quite delightful actually but not a lot of leg room. Again lots of stairs! They run a "can bar" which was fine for us. Staff were cheery and helpful. We were up in the gallery... Only problem for me were the steep steps down to our seat and no handrail. Bit scary but I got there and thoroughly enjoyed the show! No complaints here. The visit wasn't without challenges but nothing can be done to change that, it's an old, quaint time capsule of a venue in an odd location. I have booked again but in the stalls this time. Venues like this need support or they will be lost and that would be a great pity."
"We went for the first time on Sat 26th Nov to see california dreamers and had great time in this small intimate theatre ,we will be coming back as soon as we can and would recommend to anyone."
"I visited twice this week as I was on holiday staying at my friend's. It's a lovely theater in a unique setting. It was easy to book the tickets online. Staff were friendly and helpful there is a bar with a reasonable selection of drinks. Ice cream were also available. Seats were comfortable and we had food views of the performance. The only thing to be aware of is visibility going down the steps at night isn't great and you need to go steadily."
"I went to see the incomparable Paul Henderson as Aladdinsane at this theatre. I won't bore you with how brilliant he is, but if you're a Bowie fan, I highly recommend it. The theatre itself though is brilliant. Only a few steps up from Low Town. From what I can tell, it's completely run by volunteers. From the staff on the door to the bar staff, they were all fantastic. They couldn't make you feel more welcome."
