Reviews of Eddystone Cafe
"Great location right on the beach! Worth getting a hot or cold drink to enjoy the peaceful surroundings."
"We booked a surf school lesson for my son at the beach. With the cafe next door it was the obvious place to stop and spend money while my son had his lesson. We put our bags at a beach picnic table outside and my son began to get changed for his lesson. The owner came out shouting that he didn’t get on with the surf school and we were not welcome. He then went around interrogating the other customers asking if they were connected to the surf school. I had intended to spend the hour of my sons lesson with some lunch and a drink from the cafe. However the rude and aggressive manner of the owner put me right off the idea. It’s not a customers fault if business owners have disagreements with each other and a polite request to move and an explanation would have probably meant they would have retained my custom."
"Cute cafe to grab a drink on the beach. The coffee is a bit meh, as it’s just out of machines. And there’s NO loo facilities, so plan your visit accordingly."
"Amazing view. Polite, friendly staff. But this place is missing a brilliant opportunity to serve simple but quality food. Calamari and chips took 35 minutes to come even though there were only two other tables. The portion of chips was £2.50 had about 10 chips, and the calamari and chips was very greasy. Not expecting the world as appreciate its a cafe down a cliff, but there is such potential here and would be a go to spot if the simple things were done well."
