Reviews of Moorfields Sandpits
"A great park for children such a pity the Linear park walk through Durley Park which has a dreadful smell of Cannabis that to date the authorities have and will not deal with. should we be subjected to this with no action are we safe having to in this society?"
"Very good children's play park for all age groups. Amazing natural, gently managed stream, running through it from top to bottom with the source at the top. Many little bridges and challenges, good exercise opportunities for adults as well as kids. Located on the Two Tunnels walking path, affording adventure for the whole day."
"A nice little park. While in need of a bit of TLC from the council, it has everything you could want. There's an open part for ball games, a nice water feature running down through, and of course a sand pit. Some parts are left overgrown, clearly for pollinators and it's nice for children to explore that. The stream is mostly child safe and only ankle deep, with a couple fun crossings."
"Great playground / small park. Lots of different play equipment dotted around to satisfy a wide range of ages. Good parking alongside or easily accessible from Two Tunnels greenway. A man made stream runs through it with different bridges and cascades. Kids absolutely love splashing around (from 18 months) and playing Pooh sticks etc. The water seems very clean but being in the middle of a built-up area I would be careful to wash hands etc after playing around it. Haven’t managed to find details on whether it gets tested. Generally very tidy and well kept but the covered seating area is evidently a popular spot for late night drinking with lots of litter and broken glass (including in the stream) so take care."
"Big, fun park with a stream running all the way through which is safe for the kids to play in. It can get pretty busy in the holidays/weekends, but it's lovely when quiet. It's great in Summer because the top part of the park has lots of shade from large well established trees. There's plenty of room for picnics too. Some of the equipment could do with updating, but the kids don't seem to mind & have a lot of fun making up their own games in the sand and/or water."
