National Trust - Woodchester Park
About the Business
National Trust - Woodchester Park is a must-visit tourist attraction for nature lovers and history buffs alike. Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Cotswolds region of England, this historic park boasts 400 acres of unspoilt natural beauty, meandering waterways, and woodland pathways that will delight even the most discerning visitors.
As a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Woodchester Park is home to a diverse array of flora and fauna. Visitors can expect to see a variety of native animals, including deer, badgers, and foxes, as well as an abundance of birdlife. So, whether you're a keen photographer or simply interested in nature, you're sure to find something to capture your attention.
But that's not all - Woodchester Park is also a site of significant historical interest. Nestled within the parkland is the unfinished structure of Woodchester Mansion, an impressive Gothic-style building that was abandoned in the 1870s. Despite never being completed, the mansion's grandeur and intricate architectural details make it well worth a visit.
In addition to the mansion, visitors can explore the park's many other historic features, including the restored 19th-century boat house and a restored ice house, both of which offer unique insights into the history of the park and its surroundings.
If you're looking for something a little more active, the park offers a range of activities, including guided walks, wildlife watching, and even the chance to go boating on the tranquil lake.
Overall, National Trust - Woodchester Park offers something for everyone, whether you're looking to explore the great outdoors, delve into history or simply relax and unwind amid some truly stunning scenery. So why not plan your visit today and experience this UK gem for yourself?

"One of my favourite places in the stroud area to go for walk with the dog or with friends. The trails take between 1.5 to 2.5 hours to do depending on which route you take and walking speed but you wont be able to deny the views here are amazing especially in autumn when the leaves are different shades of yellow and red. The mansion itself is always good to visit if the tea rooms are open. Yes it is haunted and yes there are ghost tours for the place which i recommend. The lakes are beautiful, there are normally some fisherman on them. Overall the place is great if you fancy a small hike or you want to tire the kids/ dogs out. In season tickets at car park are £3 for all day. An i believe the gates are open til 8pm"
"Beautiful park and woodlands, with suggested walks of varying lengths to suit people of all abilities, woodland play trail, meadows and paths leading down the valley to Woodchester mansion & series of ponds further along. The mansion (managed by a separate trust) is a amazing place to discover with a fascinating history. Highly recommened to visit!"
"Lovely woodland and lake walk. I am looking forward to visiting the house the next time I visit. If you are bringing dogs there are some areas with grazing animals where you'll need to put them on lead but also plenty of areas where they can be under close control but no leads."
"Beautiful scenic walk. Thoroughly enjoyed the wooded area where the Forrest floor had a blanket of white flowers ❤️ also great walk for dogs."
