"Disorganised. They changed my daughter's review time after waiting an hour and a half there and it was changed to a time i couldn't make my poor girl was probably distraught as they promised her I'd be there that morning when she got upset when i left after visiting. Called to speak to my daughter they put the wrong girl on the phone to me. Poor girl probably got excited to think her mum was calling for her. I asked whos this as it definitely wasnt my daughter shes like mum its your daughter i told her sorry I'm someone elses mum i can imagine she would have been upset they called back and said sorry for the mix up. Its not the point. Visiting is ridiculous for someone with mental health issues too. My daughter asks for me but im not allowed to visit til 3pm and they know i have other kids to pick up from school at those times ive asked if i can visit earlier. Shes only 18 and wants her mum to make her wait like that is awful. I get they have a job to do but jeez have some compassion"
"If you want to obtain depravation of liberty and no human rights this is the best place to visit."
"If I could I would give this mental health service -5 stars. Dr Kamatchi and I can’t remember the other doctors name they were horrible. All I want is to get the help and treatment I need but time after time after time I have been ignored and I have been referred to different services. The last few weeks I haven’t been myself I’ve been self harming and really depressed and my anxiety has been terrible. Trying to get a Community Psychiatric Nurse is impossible apparently Dorothy Pattison Hospital don’t have any CPN’s you have to be referred to the community mental health team. I am so tired of having to fight for my rights to fair treatment. I didn’t ask to be mentally unwell. I understand the mental service is underfunded and understaffed but that’s not my fault or other service users. I bet if a colleague was having a mental health crisis then they would get all the support they need. My GP helps me more with my mental health than this hospital. If there was another mental health hospital near me I would switch but there isn’t and I’m stuck with an inadequate mental health service. Instead of building a state of the art dementia ward how about doing more for young peoples and childrens mental health. No wonder people self harm and commit suicide because the lack of empathy and the lack of feeling. I just wish things would change but with the government the way it is nothing will change and more and more people will die needlessly because of no one to turn to or who will listen. I know that this review will probably be ignored like everything else but I just wanted to make my point on the absolutely disgusting service this hospital provides. Dorothy Pattison Hospital should be closed down for good. Sister Dora wouldn’t be happy to see her legacy that she worked and helped people with all sorts of illnesses and especially people with mental health problems. Sister Dora would be turning in her grave and to be honest I wouldn’t blame her."
"In my experience, they book in important mental health assessments for you. Send a letter with a confirmation of the date. Then, typically, they'll phone you a week before the appointment stating the doctor has cancelled the appointment :) and that was after me having a mental health crisis a couple weeks ago. Not sure where their priorities are but the care is truly inadequate."
"Absolutely disgusting the way they have treated people close to me. No follow ups regarding strong medication they have given out, then when you get in touch with them, the "doctor" just says there's nothing they can do and hangs up. These people should not be doing the job they are assigned to do. Well, actually they're not. People need help, not more abuse and confusion. I strongly advise keeping loved ones away and finding alternative help. This place is dangerous."
