Reviews of The Cowshed
"Didn't realize this place existed until recently. Great staff, food and service, plus lovely location - feels really of the beaten track even though it's only 5 minutes from the main road. Gets very busy so recommend you just go straight to there bigger car park that's accessible from the road."
"We were recommended to go during our recent visit to Dale Abbey. We walked there and was surprised by how popular it was on a Wednesday lunchtime. We were soon seated and served though and having chosen the homemade quiche we realised why it was busy as the food is delicious and tasty. It is in a lovely setting, very clean and plenty of food choice at a reasonable price. Will definitely return when in the area again."
"We went around midday on Sunday, whilst mid-walk. The place is beautiful and really well done. It was busy and service was a little slow, it could be better organised. We had 2 coffees and 2 scones (£12.50 ish). The coffees were nice, serviced in lovely cups. The cheese scone was a bit doughy and bland. Not enough salt and barely a taste of cheese. The fruit scone with cream and jam was better, though we had ordered the cherry and almond scone but were brought the normal fruit one (we didn't return it as it didn't click before we'd cut it). It was good but not the best ever. I would return but would have coffees and a different cake, or perhaps something savoury. The breakfasts looked good. We have been before and enjoyed a beer in the sun."
"Nice morning and after a walk the Cowshed did not disappoint with breakfast. Attentive and friendly staff. Lovely location and a lot of effort has gone in to making this a nice place to eat. Food very good indeed. Two of us had a breakfast, I had a breakfast cob. Really good bacon, sausage and eggs. Recommended."
"Lovely place for breakfast or lunch. The food is excellent quality with friendly staff. Parking is a bit of a pain, you might have to park on the road. Dog friendly for those out walking. Definitely recommend the Cowshed. what3words location ///rear.elections.vanilla"
