Beachhouse

"Disappointing visit to the beautiful Beachhouse last night.. it’s a stunning venue and on one of our absolute favourite beaches but I haven’t had a meal there before because of its reputation for being so expensive. It was lovely to get the chance to visit for a friend’s birthday but true to form, it was very expensive. It’s a small venue and on a cool evening there’s only room for a handful of guests. It’s very attractive inside with a lovely layout so you can view the kitchen and it has a warm and sociable vibe. Our server was very polite and attentive. The vegetarian menu is non existent but on asking we were told there was a vegi burger option that hadn’t been written on the board. I can’t remember the last place I went to where there wasn’t a vegetarian option listed and these days I am used to seeing vegan options too. A few minutes after our arrival our party of four was told we would have two others join our table.. the benches are quite ample but this was quite a shock, particularly given the cost of the evening, and the two people who then joined our table were mortified to have to sit at the end of our birthday gathering.. super awkward! Unless you have bottomless pockets I would recommending avoiding the venue for anything other than a hot chocolate and a snack during the day. If you have the financial means then you’ll enjoy the evening; the food is nice and well presented and the service is very attentive but you’ll need to book in advance as we did and certainly check that you’ll have your table to yourselves. Access is right on the beach with a lovely view across the sea, the windows are naturally salted so you’ll not see a great deal on a colder evening but there is outside seating for a warmer day. Access is step free and parking is National Trust so handy if you’re a member. I shall aim to visit in the day next time and see if the prices are more reasonable but with a captive steam of beachgoers I should imagine they won’t be.. a real shame."

"Excellent in every way. Very pricey but no-one minds that when you get an excellent plate of food with a great customer service in awesome surroundings. Went there with the family and had some gorgeous mussels. I had Sea Bream which was cooked to perfection and another had the wonderful prawns. From the moment we went in to the moment we left the customer service was outstanding and nothing too much trouble. Love the place, love the vibe and adore the food. The best seafood in a very long while."

"An amazing little shack restaurant right on the beach. Very rustic with a surfing vibe inside. The food choice, service and overall value-for-money makes this an absolute must try. I was going to go for some seafood but caught sight of the Asian styled pulled-pork burger and had to have it. Superb!!"

"I very much enjoyed the food. Only slight gripe would be it's a little on the expensive side but it is a small place right on the beach so id say it makes sense being a less than an easier place to get to. During peak times I'd imagine you'd be unlikely to get a table as it's a small location. So I'd say book ahead. They even had a vegan burger option which was unexpected for what is essentially heavily seafood themed plaice."
