Reviews of The Royal Gurkha Spice
"The most worst place I been ever . They looting people on the name of Indian food but actually they are using very bad quality rice , flour and other vegetables . Our chapati was hard and burned Paneer chillie has hardly 4-5 pieces of Paneer . Firstly they tried to misguide when we asked if it is HALAL ? when we asked for certificate he was changing statement and finally we go for vegetarian option. If you don’t do Halal food , you should not falsely say yes it is. You can simply say no. He forcefully gave us full tray of papadam without asking quantity and charged lot for that. When we ask about it he started to behave very badly . Very bad customer service . Local people or people who never tried Indian food , he is making fool of them ."
"The food was overpriced for the quality!! They didn’t deliver everything that we ordered by missing out 3 items of our order!!! The food made us ill! If you want chips order at least 4 portions per person! And the service was terrible!!! Never again"
"Spent over £50 Order was missing a chicken tikka main and a mushroom rice. The delivery driver said something about less chips but enjoy.... turns out we got half a portion of chips for the same price too! No complementary salad for our broken poppadoms or for either of the chicken tikka mains we ordered. Tikka massala was very sweet but otherwise the food tasted okay, hence the 1 star. Called restaurant immediately who said they would wait for the driver to getting back then started arguing with kitchen staff, still not heard anything with one of our party out of pocket and hungry. No apology, no offer of re delivery or refund. As my closest Indian, it is a shame to waste our first treat in a long time through such poor service. I'll never be using again and will be spreading the word."
"Grubby place, proprietor was wearing a dirty shirt and looked like his hands needed a good scrub. Was in two minds whether to order or not - I ordered, as I was embarrassed at waiting so long to be acknowledged - it was overpriced, I then got my card out to pay (as he had a card machine there on the counter) he was extremely rude when I explained I didn’t have cash. Tutting, rolling his eyes muttering ‘people around here know it’s cash’. Cancelled my order and got a ready meal."
"We eat here regularly and the food and service just gets better and better. Lots of meat in the curries, a wonderful selection of beers including a Nepalese beer. The restaurant has changed hands and the quality has improved. Highly recommend!"
