"It's absolutely mesmerising this part of the park with this gorgeous pond full of 'birdy' life. You can see swans, ducks, geese, and many more other species. The flodden area with trees in the middle is purely gobsmacking, and you can see this scenery only in films. The wodden decks give the whole experience a new definition of beauty and splendour. It is an absolute join to walk or run or organise day walks for students. The area is clean, and there are tables and benches where you can enjoy a meal. The car park is near the entrance, so it is very accessible for people with disabilities. I would recommend people to stop feeding the wildlife with bread. Very bad for their health."
"Super impressive, especially after heavy rains- many of the trees surrounding the lake were flooded, which looks really magical. Countless friendly swans, geese and ducks, which is super fun for children. It is as accessible as possible-you literally park the car in the water's edge (note it's paid parking)."
"Lovely Connaught Water is full of wildlife and beautiful scenery. The car park is quite small for busy times, but if you wait you can always get some parking. You can pay for parking via the RingGo app. It takes around 20 minutes to walk around the lake. Footpath is newly laid (probably a couple of years ago) but does flood and get muddy sometimes. There are several benches along the way too. Worth changing into hiking or Welly boots during rainy times to avoid mudding your car. Connought water is only a walking distance to Queen Elizabeth hunting lodge, woodland cafe and a pub. A great location. The only downside is that you can't reach it easily on a public transport and sometimes there is garbage floating on the water. Nevertheless, it is one of the most well looked after and beautiful places in Epping Forest."
"Lovely walk around the water. Bring your hiking boots as it can get a bit muddy. It’s also relatively buggy friendly although a bit bumpy"
"Nice lake to walk areound. There are some tables to have a picnic"
