Reviews of The Old Crown Inn
"One of the best Sunday roasts I've had in a long time! The staff were very accomodating with some additional requests for our meals, and our two dogs were no trouble for them. Would definitely visit again. Note that the pub recently took new owners, and the quality has gone up significantly. Deserves a much higher rating than it's Google listing suggests in my opinion!"
"Me and my family (5 people) stayed in this b&b for 1 evening Saturday - Sunday. Hosting The owner was lovely - could not have been made to feel more welcome. Anything needed was well accommodated for, and we were very well looked after. Rooms There are 3 rooms to book, and we had all 3. The beds were the best I had ever slept in, the mattress was incredibly comfy. All of the beds were “zip beds” so could easily be turned into twin or double rooms. I couldn’t feel the join at all, and didn’t even know until after talking to the owner that they were zip beds that could split. Bedding was soft and I slept like a log. Dinner I honestly have never had a better veggie dinner that the one I had last night. I ordered the filo sweet potato parcel that came with salad and couscous. Portion sizes were more than adequate, and flavour was AMAZING. My other family members has squid and pork belly starters, then mains were the burger, ribeye steak, lamb, and chicken skewers. None of us have can pick any fault at all. Even the side salad was flavoursome and beautifully presented. The menu did state “it’s not fast food it’s made to order”, and we did wait a bit for the food, but it was A MILLION TIMES WORTH IT! I wish we took photos for this reviews, but to be honest it looked and smelt so yum, none of us could wait for a pic. There were also two young ladies working their first shift the evening we were here and they were both lovely. Pulled pints perfectly, helped with waiting on us for dinner, and everything was great. Breakfast We were waited on hand and foot, and everything was accommodated for, even lactose free for myself. The day before we were also asked what time we would like breakfast - which was great! Everything was fresh and very yummy. Even the little touches, like the butter and condiments were in cute little jars/packaging that looked like they were from a farm shop / locally sourced. No set menu either, so we could choose exactly what we wanted, which was amazing for me as I’m a fussy veggie. OVERALL Me and my family have ZERO complaints, everything was perfect and nothing could have been better. We were well accommodated for and very very well looked after. If we are looking to stay in the area again, we will DEFINITELY be choosing this accommodation."
"Wonderful cosy pub in the heart of the Cotswolds. Recently had a makeover by the owner giving the inside a much brighter more welcoming look. Ales are always well conditioned and plentiful with plenty of choice. Food is excellent and menus change often which keeps it varied and interesting. Landlady and staff couldn’t be more welcoming. There are events on regularly like comedy and music and a great open mic night which I love in particular. Well worth stopping in."
"Kate and Tom have done an excellent job of restoring the Old Crown. It has an incredible atmosphere and excellent food. Love music on Fridays and comedy on some Wednesdays. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area!"
