Reviews of Vale Referrals
"My Staffy was referred here from my local vets. Travelled an hour and a half to get there and can’t recommend the place enough. My boy saw Lucie who was amazing from start to finish. The reception staff were also very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately our dog was diagnosed terminal after a short but agressive illness. The care he recieved from Lucie and the nurses there was outstanding. Every concern I had was listened to and Odin was made to feel very comfortable there. My boy has since passed however I wouldn’t change a thing about his care. Thankyou Vale Referrals."
"Avoid at all costs. Posting this review as they say one thing pre surgery to make you consent and then say another post surgery… This is surely unlawful? I took my puppy for heart surgery and she died in surgery. The surgeon made it sound like a straight forward operation with a less than 4% risk, he described it like plumbing and with confidence said we would be picking her up the next day and taking her for a post op check up in a couple of weeks. A few hours later I receive a call from the surgeon to say my puppy had died, he had cut something, as he said on the call, and she had bled, he said he had stopped the bleeding but then she bled again. Post surgery I was directed to speak with the clinical director for some reason and never spoke to the surgeon again, despite never speaking to the director pre surgery or even knowing why I was now speaking with him instead of the surgeon?… Post surgery the director gave me conflicting higher risk rates for this surgery than that of the surgeon who gave me a risk rate of the operation going wrong as 4%?! Apparently nothing was ‘cut’ in the surgery but it was ‘torn’ and the excuse was that the surgeon doesn’t speak English fluently as it’s not his first language? How can this be allowed? To have a surgeon who speaks with pet owners about life and death surgery who cannot grasp the difference between ‘cut’ and ‘torn’? I’ll never know exactly what happened but the excuses they have used to get around their wrongdoings is outrageous. You cannot say ‘sorry’ because one of your surgeons can’t speak English properly or use this as an excuse.. my puppy has died. If this was a child there would be an absolute uproar. The stress and upset he has caused my family is immeasurable. Also to add, as they are a business at the end of the day, they chase and chase and threaten and threaten to be paid despite their wrongdoings, avoid this outrageous establishment would be my advice. Your beloved pet deserves much better care. I wish I’d never been referred to this vets, my puppy was 11 weeks old she had her whole life ahead of her and should still be alive today. I miss her everyday."
"The staff are phenomenal and I couldn't be more pleased. Our girl had to undergo a somewhat risky procedure. We had two appointments; one for a full CT scan, another a week later to remove the tumour. Both vets were clear, confident, compassionate and competent. All of the staff were so kind. They treated our girl as an important individual, not just another patient. For any anxious pet parents out there (I'm one of the most!) you couldn't ask for better care, and I can't recommend them highly enough. They saved my girl's life, giving us years together, not months."
"Avoid. Was told that it's a straightforward surgery with less than 4% chance of not being successful ( I guess a made up random number to make you feel comfortable). Made it sound like it was a routine surgery. "Come tomorrow to take it home for recovery". Next thing, a call notifying that your pet has died. I guess they call it surgery instead of euthanasia."
"I can't speak highly enough of the care and loving attention given to our puppy Rufus after he was involved in a RTA and broke his leg. Sara sent me photographs, text updates and phoned me each day he was in. The surgeon Michal Vlasin is undoubtedly very skilled and also took time in his busy schedule to call me and explain what was happening. The post operative handover was comprehensive and backed up with written instructions. The overnight staff also sent me a text to tell me how he was settling... it was an all round amazing service and helped massively with the trauma of a damaged puppy! Thank you all so very much and a bit woof of thanks from Rufus!"
