Reviews of Vets Now Newport
"The staff here not only cared for our beautiful dog during his last hours, but also cared for us… his family too. The receptionists were amazing on keeping us updated on everything, they constantly asked us if we needed anything eg; any drinks. The vet was amazing on giving us all the information we needed about our dogs illness. They were truly amazing with our dog and cared for him like he was theirs. I would truly recommend these vets to anybody. I can’t thank them enough for the all they did for our dog and all they’ve done for us since the passing of our beautiful Harvey. We will be forever grateful❤️"
"Had to take my Collie Toby to vets Now Newport for an emergency appointment. His care was exemplary and the vet was very helpful moving forward with his care. He is now just fine thankfully."
"Review for Newport Branch. On 7th June this year I rushed my friend and her little Chihuahua to the only vet we knew was a 24 hour emergency vet after a sudden and serious deterioration in her health from the night before, Shepards in Brackla, Bridgend. She had money, she had insurance but as all her previous vet's branches had closed she was not registered with anyone. They refused to even open the doors because of this and sent us to Maes Glas, where she was turned away from the front desk whilst holding her listless dog in her arms, without any pity or concern at all for the dogs welfare. Desperate, we drove another 40 minutes to Vets Now, Newport. This beautiful little dog was promptly taken in and immediately began receiving care and treatment here. She was in an extremely serious condition, she was completely listless, she had a temperature of over 41c, she had an infection, a seriously nasty one in her digestive system, and she was severely dehydrated and her white blood cell count was very low indeed. They put her on a drip, gave her antibiotics and pain meds, they blood did tests and they had to keep her there overnight. As she had been in season and was usually off her food and quiet during this time, this masked the underlying problem. She was still in a bad way in the morning, and it was discovered that she had a pyometra and so had to have a hysterectomy. By the evening she had developed Sepsis, and as she had stopped eating completely since the 7th she also had developed ileus so she began having Glucose as well. It took 5 days of constant and dedicated care to save this beautiful little girl's life, but saved her life they did, she came home with her owners on the 11th, still weak, but eating with a normal temperature. I am a 62 year old man and I cried when they brought her home and brought her to see me because it was so close. This Maes Glas vets and Shepards did absolutely nothing for her. Nothing. She could have died, another 6 hours without a vet and she probably would have. But I cannot give the staff at Vets Now, all of them, working at this veterinary hospital enough credit or praise. They were absolutely fantastic, caring, considerate, knowlegable and utterly professional. The fact that Bonnie recovered from the serious condition she was in is the proof of that. Update, she is still absolutely fine and it's September now."
"Without a doubt this team saved my pup’s life when she was in critical condition. Receptionist, nurses and vets are all brilliant and show real care and empathy in a time of upset. The care they gave my dog was incredible - down to calling her the right nickname and tucking her in to try and bring her comfort. Amazing, amazing staff and have my complete trust"
"Had to take Oscar our Labrador to the out of hours here..Wow! What a lovely team... unfortunately we had to have Oscar put to sleep but we couldn't have wished for a more caring, calm and compassionate environment for this sad occasion.. everything was explained in great detail which made the decision easier to bear..the vets there really can't do enough for the animals and you as owners and gave us plenty of time to be with our beautiful boy without feeling rushed.. thank you for making such a difficult time as easy as possible for us..♥️ And a big thank you to the young lady who dealt with us directly (sorry I can't remember her name) she was outstanding, can't thank her enough."
