"Terrible service! They tried charge 10 pounds extra, said needed 2 people for shower my little dog. After all, they call me for pickup my dog and said I need to go quickly because they don’t have space for keep my dog. They didn’t touch the dog head, only did the body, said my dog didn’t allow dry the head, so they only did the body. My dog is an small Yorkshire, Wherever he goes, everyone say he is a very good boy, very good behaviour. So, this store (groom room Newport road) is the worst groom room that I visit in my life. Never more. Very disappointed"

"GROOM ROOM CARDIFF BAY The website is very confusing when attempting to book a puppy in. I was told she was too young to book in, yet when I eventually managed to get a booking I was told extremely condescendingly over the phone that I should've brought her in for a number of taster sessions beforehand. They were more than happy to take a deposit from me though. Then upon taking our pup to her appointment she was turned away as her fur wasn't groomed enough beforehand which to me seems incredibly odd for a grooming business! Also no refund on the deposit. Whether I myself was in the wrong for not understanding how I should've brought my puppy in, the customer service was completely lacking and the judgemental attitude I received was disappointing to say the least. Would NOT recommend. Support local business instead of these big chains with bad attitudes who steal your money."

"Took my lab puppy for her first official grooming. Mixed bag grooming her at home, so they were super cautious with her. Was happy with the result. Went a second time and they left her barking out the back for 10 minutes whilst I was waiting, not being served, at the til. Since then she's hated the bath (she used to love it) and I'll never take my dog here ever again."

"I used The Groom Road for the first time today and my dog and I are extremely upset. My 6 year old dog has been groomed 4 times a year since a puppy and always enjoys the experience. The staff called me mid groom to say they had bathed her but she was in distress whenever the dryer was used on her and it was too dangerous to continue. I explained I had previously stayed at a number of my dog’s grooms and she has never been afraid of the dryer. Anyway, I agreed to bring my dog back another day to finish the groom. On arriving home from work, I checked my dog and she just smelled like a wet dog. Absolutely no shampoo was used. My parents took my dog and collected her from The groom room. On arriving 5 mins early, they waiting 20 mins until the staff were ready. On collecting my dog, she ran to my parents, and was visibly distressed. I won’t be returning"
