"Like others on this page my case is also assigned by Virgin Money for a simple remortgage case. I started worrying when I did not receive any call or any other communication from this company. My mortgage adviser also advised me to chase up on regular basis. I did regular follow up to make sure that they are on track and complete my application before the current mortgage expires. Virgin money provided the approval, did underwriting and I have sent back deed immediately and earlier documents as soon as loan approval came through. This firm does not pick up phone for an hour. No matter what day or what time of the day. My current mortgage ends this month and they are now saying that they would not be able to complete before that time. Which means next month I switch to variable rate, paying extra per month. Advising Virgin Money and others not to use Hugh James. Serious waste of everyone's time."

"Trying to remortgage with Virgin and Hugh James are the appointed solicitors. So far the customer service has been a very shoddy. Not once have I had an email replied to and it takes hours to get through on the phone, only eventually managed to get through once so far without getting cut off. So far our straightforward remortgage has been going on for 4 months :-\ We have been waiting 1 month (and counting) for the Completion Team to ask the existing mortgage provider or a redemption statement and to set a completion date. What a joke of a company! Avoid if possible!!!"
