Reviews of King Edward VI College
"Best"
"the education provided at this college was of a good quality but the teachers were insensitive and made the experience very difficult. i felt unable to rest during my time there."
"This place gave me the skills and knowledge that I needed for university, for my career, and for life. The staff are wonderful and the support is beyond exceptional! I miss being a student here. If I could go back, I wouldn't change a thing (okay, maybe I should work harder and socialise less, but let's be realistic). Big shout out to the science staff - you rock!"
"Great Media Studies, Photography and Film Studies department. Very good staff. Good Business Studies department. Paul Maiden the English teacher deserves an award. I enrolled at King Edward VI College (or "Kegs" as it is locally known, referring to the previous title King Edward VI Grammar School) as it was locally regarded as the premier sixth form education establishment in Nuneaton and its surrounding areas. Unfortunately by the time I got there, Saint Thomas Moore Catholic School had opened up as the better choice with stricter enrolment conditions with regards to GCSE grades. This meant KEC had to let in more of the "riff-raff" to get their numbers up. A once reputable education premises which was for the elite intellects now has students re-sitting 82 of their GCSE examinations because they didn't get the 5 A*-C grades the college once required. The drop in intellects meant my learning was often disturbed by "chavs" (or as they now like to be called "roadmen") arguing in the corridors with their loud non-intelligent slurs. I do not want to know which "mandem" fingered which "galdem" outside of the local working mens club; I want to know what Noam Chomsky thinks about Child Language Acquisition, because funnily enough I don't think that topic is going to come up in my A-Level English Language exam. Don't get me started on the bloody smoking shelter. Fair enough the college built the structure to prevent inconsiderate arse munchers from blocking the entrance, but you should look at the creatures that inhabit the thing! Delusional gimps dressed in what can only be described as the Depop marketplace, thinking they're "hipster" because they support Jeremy Corbyn, smoke a little bit of weed and take A-Level Art... Have a day off! I would receive constant e-mails about bikes being stollen from the bike shelter, people not returning library books, local residents moaning about students parking within a 3 mile radius of the curb outside of their house and all sorts of rubbish that does not regard myself in any platform. I'm sorry Dawn but I do not care that the library now stocks Bridget Jones's Diary available for rental on DVD, even if it is a classic, I can just stream it online love. Canteen was decent though."
"Fantastic college. OK facilities, but fantastic staff make up for it."
