"Been to this pub a few times, and it is always busy with a really lively atmosphere and buzz about the place. The food has looked good every time, and so we had planned for a while to try it. Went for Sunday lunch today and it was fantastic. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and efficient, and the prices really reasonable. Lovely wine at under £20 a bottle and a good choice of beers too. Definitely recommend The Red Lion - and I believe they have an excellent quiz night!"

"What a hidden gem, well worth a special visit here for lunch. The unassuming exterior leads to a wonderful warm and beautifully cared for and sympathetically updated interior resonant with traditions of years past. We stopped for lunch and had absolutely wonderful dishes from the day's specials menu. A pan fried brill on vegetable mash was absolutely perfect and the prawn linguine exceptional. Wonderful service too. What a find, will be back!"

"Booked Sunday lunch as part of a ‘big’ birthday celebration lunch after reading some great reviews. Arrived a little early but was shown promptly to a table and our drinks duly served. However 30 minutes later we still hadn’t been shown a menu or asked by staff clearing a large party next to us whether we were ok, nor at any point were told to order at the bar if this was the case. Sadly not a great experience for us as we left disappointed so won’t be making a return visit."
