"Friendly pub. I broke down outside across the road. I asked if it was OK to wait for the recovery vehicle to turn up. It was a lovely day so had several beers with the local customers and had a good chat with really great people. Beer was spot on as well. Thursday night is £2.00 a pint night with free pool as well. I will be returning for a drink with a load of my friends to say thanks."

"This is a nice public, great service and lots of good deals and events throughout the week. Staff and patrols alike are all good people, friendly and kind. They have Skysports so you can catch the game when you visit, and a pool table that is occasionally busy with some good players. They also host a pool league some nights. Worth popping in if you're in the area and find yourself thirsty."

"This is a charming old pub, converted from an old coach house into the most laid back, easygoing pub in all of Shipley, in all of the UK I would most certainly argue. The first time I walk in, I was a complete stranger and the local folks there chatted with me and made an effort to get to know me and share a bit of themselves. That was the first clue that this place, was more about the people, then the walls; which themselves are covered in historical art ads promoting the rich history of the local train services and the community at large. The owners are friendly and treat you like family as do the patrols who will go out of their way to watch your back and share a smoke with you if you run short. Worth tipping even if it isn't necessary. Skysports on tap with England's finest beers as well. They have great events during the week, cheep Thursdays, Karokee, Bingo and other fun activities like FREE BILLIARDS on Thursdays, double the reason to show up. The patrons are a mix of seniors and young, which is unusual for a pub, it's popularity transcends age groups; I've adopted one of the regulars as my surrogate grandpa he's called 'Digger', and the owners/managers Sue and her husband (really cool guy too) were spoken highly of by clients of my fiancee. They've got a front and rear patio for smokers and the view across the street is easy on the eyes: the Windhill Manor, a charming old building. I tried other pubs in the area just to be fair and found them to be of good quality too, but nothing can measure up to the soul to the Travelers Rest, where after your second visit, the young bar keeper will shake an empty glass under the tap of your favor beer, inviting you to nod in agreement as you walk in the front door. They obviously make an effort to get to know their patrons and treat them like family. This is the kind of pub you can grow old with!"

Good range of drinks at good prices and Thursday is amazing with all drafts at £2 per pint. That's including premium lagers and Guinness as well as beers and cider."
