"On behalf of my mother - Not recommended for vegetarians. Sandwiches are made up fresh so I asked if I could just have a cheese sandwich as I’m vegetarian and cheese and ham was an option. I was told if I was a non meat eater I should go somewhere else. I was with my grandson (age 4) at the time who also wanted a cheese sandwich but she told him he the same thing. Overall very rude and not accommodating."
"I would strongly recommend everyone to STAY AWAY from this place. We purchased drinks, I naively assumed the biscuits on the worktop were complimentary so took one. We sat outside in the sun, parsol up as my friend was trying to avoid further sunburn on her face. A mature female approached the table, pulled the parasol down then brusquely spoke stating the parsol would fly away. She then added she thought I was rude for taking a biscuit which was meant for coffee drinkers (I had tea). We were in absolute disbelieve with the blunt and harsh manner this female had spoken to us in. She is rude, abrupt and down right repulsive. It would of made sense to address the matter in an adult and calm way but she's evidently incapable of this. Instead she childishly growled and scurried off back into the shop. I hope she receives the help she clearly needs. I reluctantly leave 1 star on this review as there is no option to rate zero stars."
"Very nice place. The two ladies served us even though they were just closing. Very dog friendly, they made a fuss of our JRT. Coffee was very good and the cakes looked lovely."
"As a regular of the outstanding Old Glen House pub next door (great pub, people, pies) I thought I would give this little cafe a try. My experiences have varied. Cakes are homemade but we tried three and two were dry or stale. I popped by to give it another try as the pub was closed. I walked up to the door with my dog and the female owner closed the door on me. I then knocked and asked if the café was open. The older female owner who was busy unpacking boxes near the counter seemed really annoyed and then rudely said 'thats what the sign says, doesn't it'. I may have caught them at bad time, but I'll not go back. Try the pub instead. Always welcoming."
