Volpo Lounge

"Visited Volpo Lounge on Sunday evening for a coffee. It was decent and nicely presented. The place is well decorated and has comfortable vintage sofas and chairs. We didn't eat any food hence will not comment on that. The only reason for not giving 5 stars are the house flies which were sitting on our coffee mugs every now and then. It was annoying and could be one off but thought of mentioning that cleanliness is not ignored anytime."

"We visited on a Friday evening for an early family meal. All the team were very friendly and helpful, we have a son with a severe nut allergy and the manager confirmed the restaurant is nut free. But they still took extra precautions which was very reassuring. I had the buttermilk chicken burger with a friend egg and it was really nice. One of my sons had the kids English breakfast for lunch and he loved it. Recommended"

"Been here twice now its a lively place to go the scenery reminds me of Amsterdam beautiful! Staff are lovely... photos I have uploaded have been on 2 occasions! The food I had was buttermilk chicken could of been abit more flavoursome but the sauce! THE SAUCE was lovely think it was called Katsu mayo I'm not to sure but was still nice I've been back again for cocktails! That were also amazing highly recommend mango sling... lovely!"

"First time here and I won't be coming back again. I normally like the Lounge chain and have been to quite a few at different locations across the country. Volpo Lounge has to be the worst experience I've had so far with the Lounges that I have been to. The Lounges all are similar, they have a rustic shabby chic style, generally manned by student types with the same menus, so you know what you're getting. I was unable to order via my phone like I used to with other Lounges, so I had to go to the till point. I was waiting for a few mins before a young man came to bar to get something for someone else. He acknowledged me with a look that said, I'll be with you in a sec. By the time he had come back another customer was at the bar also. Instead of serving me, he served them first (I presume as they were closer to the till than I was)! When it did come to my turn, they had ran out of a few items and one of the ones I had wanted the customer he served just before me had ordered the last of that item. Had he have served me first, I might have actually got something I wanted. I know that these are student type servers and this isn't their life goal. Still teaching them how to interact with customers wouldn't go a miss."
