About Archfield House Nursery and Preschool
Welcome to Archfield House Nursery and Preschool, a premier educational institution located in the heart of Cotham, Bristol. We are an establishment that prides itself on providing high-quality education and care to children aged between six weeks to five years old.
We understand that early years are crucial in shaping a child's future, and that is why we have formulated a curriculum that is designed to engage and challenge young minds. Our experienced and dedicated staff work tirelessly to create a positive and nurturing environment that encourages children to learn and develop at their own pace.
Our preschool program follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which focuses on seven areas of learning, including communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design. Our curriculum is designed to ensure that children have a broad and balanced learning experience that prepares them for their future academic journey.
At Archfield House Nursery and Preschool, we understand that each child is unique and has their own individual talents and abilities. Therefore, we offer a range of extracurricular activities, including music and movement, storytelling, sports, and yoga, to allow children to explore and develop their interests.
Our facilities at Archfield House Nursery and Preschool are second to none. We have a beautiful outdoor space that is perfect for children to explore and play in. We believe that spending time outdoors is essential for children to learn and develop, and that is why we encourage outdoor play as much as possible.
We are proud of our excellent reputation in the community, and we invite you to come and see what makes Archfield House Nursery and Preschool unique. We provide regular opportunities for parents to meet with our staff, and we welcome visits from prospective parents and children. Reviews of Archfield House Nursery and Preschool
"We’re delighted to have found Archfield and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. The staff are warm and professional, communication is excellent and the overall set up is great with lots of different activities and a big private garden with multiple areas. My toddler had some health issues when he first started and they were really were responsive and accommodating."
"Both my children (now aged 6 and 4) have been, or go, to Archfield. We’ve been so happy we found it. In fact, I knew the second we walked in the door (having looked round various other nurseries) that it was where I wanted my children to go to nursery. The staff are their biggest asset - from the fantastic management team to the wonderful chef and to everyone in between. My children have flourished under Archfield’s care and love their Archfield family, and I feel so grateful for the amazing Archfield community that we are now part of."
"Both our daughters (10 months and 2 years) currently attend Archfield and we've been delighted by the care they've both received from day one. The staff are all really experienced and have lots of fab expertise with early years education. We've been so impressed with the feedback we've received as well as the regular parent information evenings on offer. All their keyworkers have been so conscientious and dedicated. I really feel like each one has gone out of their way to accommodate their individual needs. When I pick them up I always get the sense that the staff know our girls so well and really care about them. It is always such a happy place to walk into. My eldest has struggled a bit with shyness (lockdown baby...) and the staff have given her so much support in building her confidence as well as giving me a huge amount of feedback. The curriculum and facilities are great I love the nursery's focus on reading and emotional literacy. They've also got a truly spectacular outdoor play area. The food is great (probably the only time anyone gets my eldest to eat vegetables all week...) and I get loads of feedback on their eating and activities each day. We've been so glad we chose Archfield for our girls and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone."
"This is a wonderful nursery! My child has been there for a few years now and I cannot fault it at all. My child is really happy there, and has developed a sense of independence, kindness and curiosity thanks to the amazing staff. It just feels like a great big happy family each time I step in. They have a great outside space which you wouldn't have expected just looking from the outside, with lots of equipment and space for all sorts of open ended play, and children are encouraged to play outside as much as they like/ is possible. There is a great focus on child led development and learning through play, and also excellent parent engagement and communication. Would highly recommend Archfield House!"
"Had a good atmosphere and children very open and friendly. I went there for a interview. I have over 20 years experience with children and live within walking distance of the Nursery and felt confident that I had alot to offer the Nursery as an employee. The interview seemed to go well and the children really took to me, I was told by management that I would hear their answer by the following Tuesday. Tuesday came, no answer from management. The following day I received a very direct email stating they would not employ me with no feedback. Naturally as someone with the breadth of experience I had to offer I was genuinely shocked. I personally would not wish to work at a Nursery that treats potential staff in this way. Very dussapointed."
