Reviews of FilmBath previously Bath Film Festival
"Absolutely stunning eye-opening films from around the world. Definitely not one to miss."
"An engaging and inclusive organisation with a brilliant variety of screenings and events, during the annual festival season and year-round, across the city."
"The Film Festival is one of my favourite cultural events of the year in Bath. I've been so many brilliant films over the years - many of which would never have been screened in Bath were it not for the Festival. The team are so committed to offering the people of Bath & beyond some absolute gems. I'm also continually grateful for the half-price tickets for under 30s! FilmBath also offer significant concession prices which is so important in a city whose cultural offers are often very expensive."
"I've been attending the Bath Film Festival now for over 10 years and it has gone from strength to strength. This development has brought an growing number of varied and cosmopolitan movie gems to a city that now sadly lacks a truly independent cinema. Each year the Festival attempts to deliver a broad range of film genres and types, and for me personally it brings an exciting annual opportunity to catch up with as well as preview some of the very best films around. Well-organized, friendly and reasonably-priced, it is also now increasingly in tune with relevant social issues. For instance, the Festival last year championed the often unrecognized role women play in movie-making, not only in front of the camera but behind it too. This is a rare opportunity to see some really great movies, both classic and new. Definitely not to be missed!"
"One of the most exciting experiences during my time living in the UK was discovering the Bath Film Festival. Why? Because it brings to the English Southwest the best of the cinema productions around the world, giving the opportunity to their habitants to enjoy truly gems from Festivals as Cannes, Venice, Toronto… or films that sometimes never could be on the schedule of the local distributors. At the same time, The Bath Film Festival is a platform for new talents, giving the chance to them of showing on big screen local productions or taking part in events such as the IMDB New Filmmaker Award. The debate with Directors, Producers or actors, is another extra value for the BFF who always have time after the projections to share invaluable opinions with the audience. 2011 was my first Festival as general public; in 2012 I was part of the big team of volunteers, a grateful and recommended experience for the cinema lovers around the area that I hope to repeat this year!"
