Reviews of Fishponds Lodge
"Great space to stay , in the middle of central Bristol. Near by locate Mc , local shop , Morrison’s, Aldi , Lidl extra more . I’m not sure why people we’re writing lots of not true fact we’re everything it’s ok . My stay was over 1 week , I had room with private bathroom, facing Main Street , but noisy but I pay really good price so can’t complain. Beds are double and comfortable I don’t have any issues. Stuff in this place very polite , and nice I don’t any problems for asking things . I will recommended to anybody with limited budget travelling or work ."
"They say its budget but quite expensive for what you get..very uncomfortable old mattress, pillows and duvet. I never knew pillows could be so uncomfortable. The mattress protector was dirty and the pillows and duvet looked unwashed too. There was a wierd smell in the room like mold or damp something. There are too many people sharing one bathroom and it was very cold in the night/ morning with no heating on (but its supposedly automatic). The bedding was so cold as the room was cold. I had back pain and pains from the old mattress. The WiFi kept losing connection, very noisy from traffic and the front door is often left open by other guests. There was way too many people using the 1 bathroom upstairs next to the room...it's very busy in the morning and evening and it was literally one person after another and could hear them going in and out. They have 2 or 3 beds in 4 rooms so who knows how many people are using just the 1 bathroom. I had to get up extra early just so I could get showered in time in the morning. The person who it says to contact for anything is quite rude with her responses..I nearly stooped to her level and responded the same. Noisy road right outside aswell until early hours."
"I would never recommend this place there was nothing good about the place. We found it hard to contact the host and was stuck outside with no idea where to go lucky a guest staying helped us get in. We had to share the bathroom and there was only hot water in the shower. The view is a tree and this was not worth my money. I hated every minute even though I tried to adjust. The shops near by are bad and the delivery of food to this place was exaggerated. The bed was uncomfortable and felt like paper. The room was nothing like the pictures we saw online. No food available or space allocated in the fridge to use. The buses only come once every half an hour and takes over half an hour to get to the city on the bus."
"Before we booked with the host, we asked if we could check out at a later time as a lot of the drivers wanted to have a drink the night before and the host agreed to this which is why we stayed, we only stayed one night and paid over £1K! Anyway, she has a 48-hour cancellation policy, and the night before informs us that we need to leave at 10:30 am, so we couldn't even cancel as she did not inform us on time! She was very rude over emails, writing in all capital letters. We left the place spanking clean, it was probably cleaner when we left than when we arrived, the shower was had hair in it, the furniture has stains. Not impressed, we would not have stayed if she had informed us of the sudden check-out change after her cancellation period! Very overpriced too."
"It is a simple budget accommodation but too expensive for what you get. The room we had (Room 1) was big enough for 3 of us but there was only 1 decent bed in the room. The 2 other beds were not good enough. The kitchen has all the appliances you need if you want to cook and the cupboards are stocked with cereals. However, we were there for 11 days and the room was not cleaned at any time. Not even once. There is only 1 toilet serving 5 rooms and the toilet in the loft on the second floor. Not so convenient if your room is located on the ground floor. The wooden floorboards upstairs make a lot of creaky noise which again is unpleasant if you are on the ground floor. We were there when temperature was at its peak and there was no fan in the room. Good as a place to sleep if you are in the city for a quick work trip. I will not recommend it for holiday."
