"Decor is decent. Server didn't get her name but was pleasant. Food was mediocre, suya was dry, definitely had better, asun was nice but way too spicy, yam sticks were lovely. Was running late for booking and called, not sure who answered when I called but the lady was extremely dismissive when all I was informing the restaurant was my apology for lateness. Cocktails were decent too we ordered 4 rounds of differentones and onneach occasion 1 of the 2 was not as expected. Best thing for us was the dj. Ok restaurant few doors away from 805 restaurant."
"Amazing food! Portions are big. We were served by Grace. She was lovely and so friendly. The atmosphere was just a vibe. Good food, good music. Now for the constructive criticism. I booked for a friend's birthday and chose a Friday as it was ladies night. We did not receive a welcome drink as specified on their website and social media. The mains came far too quickly as we had literally just started tucking into starters before being overwhelmed with mains which could not fit on the table with the starters. The ladies serving us needs to be more knowledgeable of the menu as everything we asked they couldn't answer. They are all friendly and welcoming but could be more experienced which can be fixed with a little training. Maybe a menu tasting for the stuff so they are prepared and more confident to answer any questions customers may have. All in all, its a great find. Defo coming back! Nice to see a great place and its black owned!!"
"I'll start positive, but you better know I'm gonna get stuck in. The food is tasty, cooked well. I had prawns, which were tasty. Music/DJ on point, creating a lovely little vibe... I wanted to throttle the server. We arrived, sat down, she came to stand up over us with her phone to take our order. I hadn't even taken my coat off. Had to ask for menus, but not before asking her to clear the table from the previous guests. The bar is a hot mess, with empty, dirty glasses everywhere and empty packaging from the herbs (mint etc), so I'm sat facing an untidy bar, which no one seemed in a great hurry to clear; you would never see that in AllBar one of Wetherspoons. Had a Chapman, which was lovely, garnished, presented well. Upon ordering a second round, I got 3/4 full drink and ice. Upon asking for garnish, it was met with disdaine like we were being fussy. Was clear they ran out. Asked for Mint, none left. Meal arrives, no cutlery. Upon asking, we were simply passed knives and folks from the servers hand. I told her off, asking her to wrap them in napkins. I want to be treated like I am eating out, not passing through my mum's house. We asked for a jug of water 4 times, which finally arrived, minus cups. Overall, it was a lovely evening, which sounds weird because I've just complained about the service, but remember, the server is just one part of the whole experience, not the experience itself. Honestly, ESQ is a lovely place with good vibes, and I would definitely go again."
"Came for a birthday meal and it was a shambles. My party wasn't given enough seats, our meals were mostly wrong and stone cold. I complained and was offered another meal on another date with bottomless drinks as compensation. This meal was better, but mediocre the portion size of pasta and prawns isn't big. The drinks are not consistent in alcohol level. Some were strong, and some were very much juice drinks. The servers- 2 in particular, quite short young ladies (they are on the instagram page) are rude beyond measure and have no customer service skills. All in all, I wouldn't go back to this establishment. They can't manage large bookings and the drinks aren't great."
"I will start by saying the food was amazing and by far the best brunch meal I have had. The cocktails were ok. They were enjoyable. This place could have a little gem on their hands however what will let them down is the service, again itβs not bad it was just ok. There were aspects that were not exactly professional. A great place for under 29βs, after 30 all the little things just stick out and annoy you haha! Again I will say the food was amazing!! My 3 star was more to do with service and overall experience."
