"I sold some old gold & silver jewellery on two occasions & was happy with the amount I received. However the third & last time, the jewellery I handed in included a 14carat gold necklace. I didn't know it was a reasonably valuable piece of jewellery until my friend seen it for sale in the window for just under £300. She has an identical one & thought I knew the value. I was given £55 for the necklace, two other gold chains & three pairs of small gold studs. Avoid Ramsdens, especially if it's the manager who serves you."
