Reviews of The Crannog
"Fantastic kids play park with lots things to do."
"Good play area for kids. Enough to keep them amused for quite a while. Can get extremely busy at times but can usually find somewhere to grab a wee sit whilst kiddos exert some energy. Zip lines give quite a kick at the stop point and even take adults (though your bottom may scuff the ground at the lowest point)"
"Great park for ages 4+. Plenty of space for the little ones to run around and certainly fun activities on this play park for them to play on. I thought the design of this place was really good."
"This was designed by someone who doesn't have kids. There is no way to keep sight of your kids from any spot, and there's water on all sides, plus the fence around the water stops a couple of metres from the closest bit of equipment. Only a couple of years old and already falling into disrepair, some netting is broken, a swing has been removed, and the fencing panels have all be ripped off by vandals."
"This is one of my favourite playgrounds in Glasgow. Its design is based on an ancient "crannog" water village and it is sighted right on the edge of lochend loch, where the remains of one of these villages were once discovered. There is an audio information point built into the playgrounds architecture to tell you more about the history of the site and there are fantastic views across the water from all around. The playground itself is clean, modern, has a good variety of adventure play equipment but is best enjoyed by those old enough to walk. Our 2 year old toddler was quite happy there but will undoubtedly get more out of it when she's a little older and more confident on her feet. In the meantime, the nearby Drumpellier Country Park Playground (on the other side of the cafe) has more suitable equipment for children her age. Plenty of picnic benches in the area for adults to sit on while supervising and a cafe, toilets and free car park just a few minutes walk down the path."
