"Nice relaxing area found in transit to another place. There seems to be a museum there but it was already closed by the time we got there so the park is quiet then. Can't tell if during the day it'll be the buzz in the area."

"The Doulton Fountain is a large fountain that sits just outside the a the People’s Palace in Glasgow Green. The fountain is reputedly the largest terracotta fountain in the world and was produced by Doulton & Co for the Glasgow Exhibition of 1888. The general theme of the fountain is glory of the British Empire. Queen Victoria stands atop the centre of the fountain to symbolise her reigns over empire. Immediately below her is water carrying maids empty water onto the lower tiers. Below them is a sailor and one soldier from each of Scotland, England and Wales, the source of her glory. On the lowest tier are four groups of figures, to represent the four a major colonies of the empire. Being South Africa, Australia, Canada and India."
