Reviews of Torwood Blue Pool
"An unexpected gem off the beaten track. Great wee walk and view of the forth rail and Queensferry bridges on a clear day. Its a mystery really to what the blue pool is/was built for which makes it kind of magical"
"It's a fascinating free mystery on a historical walk that's just got to be visited even if it's for the bragging rights. What is the exact truth and although this could be signposted so much better as well as marketed more it does help give you the privacy and atmospheric feel. Best views are in the bright summer sunlight but even on a dull day as when I visited this is worth visiting more than once. See the castle review for more directions and parking as well."
"I can imagine that in better times this would have been a magical place to visit. Unfortunately that was not the case today. The pool is very low, scummy water filled with litter, beer cans, plastic bags, camping tents, old camping chairs - an absolutely disgusting show. Surrounded by large areas of burnt-out woodland littered with tourist debris. I wish people had more pride in their country and themselves. Would definitely not recommend this place for a visit."
"Difficult to locate without the assistance of a GPS device. Larbert is the closest rail station. Can only take a car so far, a 10 - 20 minute walk through uneven, gravel, tree roots, and mud. It would appear the area is used for off road cycling. There is minimal signage, prepare to get lost. Wear sensible shoes and choose a dry day."
"Fair wee walk to reach this eerie blue pool but some good scenery en route. Paths can be quite uneven in places and near the pool very much so. Would say its best to walk, not suitable for buggies and some bikes may struggle in areas."
