"Absolutely shocking service from start to finish. Having enquired about some lengths of European Oak for a customer's project, I had to chase three times to get a quote (roughly £400 worth), then four further times to place the order to get the product delivered. This process took over two weeks itself. Finally, I was assured that after I’d paid direct to bank, my order would be on the next delivery vehicle (ie the following working day), yet it took five more days and four more phone calls, during each it became apparent that my order had been mislaid and/or forgotten. Not a single staff member I spoke to or dealt with called me back when they promised to, or followed up on my ongoing and increasingly frustrated enquiries. Throughout, I got the impression that nobody really cared, especially younger members of staff, who appear to have had no training whatsoever in dealing with customers. The order was eventually delivered to my workshop (only after an angry further phone call) and even then, there was no recognition of the poor service I’d received or any kind of apology. It’s inconceivable that a company of this standing would be so incompetent and unrepentant. I will never use James Latham Timber Bristol again. Just awful. Zero stars if I could."

"Unfortunately James lathams has shown a complete lack of consideration for their clients on many occasions. If you manage to get a delivery of your order on the day you originally agree with them you will be very lucky, you will be even more lucky if everything you order turns up. They will then accuse you for the problem and refuse to rectify the issue in due time and will deny any discounts for disruption and aggrevation still never calling back to rectify the issue. Terrible service all round, certainly won't waste my time with them in the future."

"Due to changing my sheet material grade, james latham where able to supply what i needed (finsa hydrofugo mrmdf), unfortunately when the sheets were delivered (on a friday), they were the wrong brand (medite) and had to refuse the order, so I had to make 3 attempts to rearrange delivery for the right sheet material to be delivered, they told me it would be with me by Monday morning. so I called up on monday to confirm a delivery time and was told it wont be with me until Tuesday PM, I told the guy on the phone that whoever was sorting my order had cost me 2x days worth of work and he couldn't care less. Once the sheets were delivered, half of them were either damaged with chunks taken out of the edges or were covered in mould /damp. I completely understand that people make mistakes but they seem that they are more interested in dealing with much bigger companies than a one man band like myself, which is a shame as I have now started a good working relationship with one of their competitors."
