"I am in the process of extending the lease on my flat and am responsible for paying the freeholder’s legal costs. The freeholder is represented by Nicolas and Co. Solicitors who assigned a very experienced partner whose charge out rate is 425 GBP per hour. This case is a straightforward lease extension. I have now been presented with a roughly GBP 6k bill for their services. Of course, my solicitor and I will be disputing this and taking the case to the FTT. Note, my solicitor received the below from this firm because I left a more detailed version of the above Google review. I feel bullied and threatened so revised my original review taking out anything other than the bare facts. I will continue to keep everyone updated as to how things progress and whether I continue to receive similar threats. ""Unless your client removes the review by close of business Friday 9th April 2021, I will instruct counsel to prepare proceeding for an injunction and damages against your client without further notice to your firm or your client. If you client removes the post after we have instructed counsel, we will still bring a claim against her for costs and damages. We do not take such a review lightly."" UPDATE: Just received word from my solicitor that Nick Nicholas phoned her to say unless I remove my review today he is instructing legal counsel against me. Again I feel bullied and intimidated but I also feel an obligation to highlight how this firm operates. I will not be removing my review."
