"Have had 5 or 6 cuts here, all but the most recent have been pretty spot on to what I asked for and most importantly it felt like I was getting the kind of concentration you would expect from a £25 hair cut. Went in a few days ago after booking online, booking system failed so there was a bit of a backlog of people waiting and not enough staff to cover, no big deal, I wasn't in a rush. Before I was asked how I wanted my hair cut, the barber told me he 'knew what to do here' and described what was wrong with my current barnet and how he was going to fix it. I should have listened to my gut and saw this red flag for what it was, but I sat down and tried to describe what I actually wanted, which was sort of similar to what he had described. That, combined with my previous experiences of the shop and impatience to get what I came for, meant I persevered through a less than relaxing wash and pretty scratchy clipper sesh. Excited as I was to get out and enjoy my fresh fade, I was pleased see the last few hairs brushed off my neck and the apron removed. Like everyone who has ever been shown their haircut in the mirror, I exclaimed 'that's great, cheers' knowing that even if in fact, it wasn't great, what were either of us going to do about it. But in all fairness, he had done a great job, it was a fine haircut, it just was not what I asked for, and I only realised that once I had left and got chance to see it in the wild. I'm sure it was just a concequence of a busy morning and perhaps some hubris on the part of the barber that meant he didn't take the time to understand what I was after, so I would still recommend this shop but just use my experience as a cautionary tale. Or maybe, like all bad hair cuts, he just thought I needed a chance to learn not to invest so much value in my appearance and that ultimately vanity will always lead to suffering. Either way, please forgive my shlid and do check out Mack Daddy's Westbury Park, especially if James comes back."
