"We didn't do the whole walk just the one that takes you round by Rosslyn castle/chapel and along to Wallace cave. The car park is good size. The main car park has height of 2 metres or you can just park at the old works building car park. There is no electric car chargers. The paths are a mixture of grass and gravel and we're still very wet in some areas. The grass sections have a lot of nettles and brambles around ankle area. To get to the Wallace cave you go down a steep slope with steep drop at the side. When you get there for me it didn't feel like it was worth it and the walk back up was quite difficult to grip your feet. The Castle is a ruin but is still very impressive. As you walk towards the entrance, the wall is very low and has a sheer drop so be careful if you have adventourous kids. The views are really impressive out towards the glen. There is a private sign at the house of the castle and works sign up. You can walk round the outside of the castle to view more of the building, but the path is quite difficult and has lots of nettles. The castle could do with some information boards with how the castle looked and information of the history of it. We went by Rosslyn chapel but didn't go in. There is no toilets in the park. There is no food places either. There a few picnic tables about."
"Always a great day in Roslin Glen. Great for picnics, fishing, swimming, woodland walks, castle visits and for Rosslyn Chapel. Family friendly and animal friendly. Please remember to take all your rubbish with you when you leave!"
"Great for a walk either towards the old gunpowder factory (be careful on the busy road section from the car park to the start of the walk), or the other way towards Roslin Chapel and into the ‘gorge’. Some narrow pathways by the North Esk river so care needed when walking with younger ones. Great location and lots of exploring to be done!"
"Absolutely gorgeous looking place, the castle is really bold and impressive, really got a lord of the rings feel as I walked through. Take responsibe footwear as it is very muddy!!!"
"Great (dog) walk around and through beautiful woodland. It can get quite muddy, boots are highly recommended. It is worth crossing the water and walking around the castle's ruins and chapel."
