Reviews of The King of Wessex
"We had breakfast here and the prices are really accessible! The staff were really friendly and even checked up on us during our meal! They also have refillable coffee for less than £2 and you can have as many as you want, including lattes, cappuccinos, etc! Always a good choice when you don’t know where to eat!"
"I love this chain of pubs. Unfortunately, this time it was terrible. The chips were greasy and tasteless, the fillets in the burger were burned. There were no boxes for food, they ordered food, but they could not take it with them. And the biggest negative is the lack of barbecue sauce. I have been to the pubs of this network in many cities, but this one was the worst."
"I understand it's a weatherspoons and the quality nationwide is generally is pretty average to poor. This weatherspoons was unfortunately poor quality in the food department. I will all the servers and bar staff were very helpful and friendly and this is not their fault. We ordered breakfast and used the intent order from table (my mistake). The problem was there was no eggs but you are not informed online so until it comes you are unaware. They stuck an extra hash brown on but eggs are pretty vital. It came with small portion of cold beans, cold sad mushroom and a cold tomato, no butter for the toast either but the server sorted that out for me. I have uploaded pictures to show I'm not exaggerating. I want to say I don't blame the staff for any of this, it's a very popular mainstream pub/restaurant so has large volumes to deal with. They always seem understaffed and under a lot of pressure. I blame Timothy Martin for his poorly run chain and think he should pay his staff more or at least employ enough for each pub he owns. I will return again one day and update this review if improved."
"Another Wetherspoons another good value meal.. Visited Bath on a rainy cold day and hoped to warm up in Spoons with a meal and drink. Unfortunately it was very cold inside, possibly had air con on. Being Thursday we ordered Kormas, and we were not disappointed, lovely, tasty and great value for money. The toilets are located on the same floor to the rear and these were lovely and clean. The staff were all friendly and pleasant. One particular manager was amazing, she had apparently been conducting interviews before coming onto the floor, she was like a whirlwind, cleaning and tidying."
"( Date of visit 9th june 14.07 ) Absolutely terrible place to eat, not sure who the chef is that was working today but he needs to be either sacked or retrained, not only the chef but the manager also as she was the one who bought the food to our table and allowed it to be served in such a bad condition. Our food was awful! Burt food on all three dinners. Will not be revisiting."
