"I had a fantastic and fascinating year at ACS on their one year Professional Diploma. Even in the dreaded year of 2020, I was still able to learn so much of the craft of acting, and I really felt like I arrived as an amateur, but left as a professional. We covered so many disciplines: stage, screen, voice, and even clowning, giving me great confidence to tackle every corner of this industry. The coaches are inspiring, energetic, and deeply invested in their students' journeys, even standing by them and continuing to offer them guidance long after graduation, as they have done for me. As a comparatively young school, ACS is not set in its ways like other institutions can be. The coaches clearly make a great effort every year to make that year's course as relevant to the requirements of the modern industry as possible, and to tune it in line with their ever-developing ideas on acting technique. While this means that ACS is an incredibly exciting and dynamic place to study, it does also mean that in the excitement (and especially in such an extraordinary and traumatic year as 2020) the course basics such as feedback and predictable scheduling/course planning can be a bit neglected. But with that said, the coaches really do care about their students' experience, and so are always seeking to improve their courses in every way. Ultimately, if you can roll with a bit of unpredictability, you will have a life-changing, rip-roaring education with a full time course at ACS. You won't be taught any chaff, you won't spend any lessons finding out what your character had for elevenses last week, and you won't waste your time. What you will do is gain a technical toolbox of many approaches to the craft from which you can choose what works for you, you will discover things about yourself and the industry that you didn't know you didn't know, and of course, you'll gain friends and mentors for life to boot. So I'd say, do it."
"After doing the part time classes at Acting Coach Scotland I was so impressed with the technique that I applied for and was accepted on the full time diploma course which was incredibly rewarding, intense and enjoyable. If you’re on the fence I can wholeheartedly recommend ACS as a place to start or continue your acting training, Mark and Nick taught me so much not only in different acting techniques for stage and screen but also a major part of the teaching is centred around the “inner game” of performance and how to get out of your own way to progress in your acting skills and career. This course is great value for money and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their acting skills."
"An acting studio that will give you everything you need to take with you into the industry and begin a professional acting career. The coaches are knowledgeable, practical and supportive who will push you further then you can imagine! Even my course finished the support I received and continue to revive from the coaches is second to none. Whether you’re looking for a full time qualified acting course, one to one coaching or weekly classes. ACS is the place to go. I couldn’t recommend highly enough!"
"The full time course at Acting Coach Scotland was more than I imagined it would be. And after almost a year since graduation, I'm still learning lessons we explored in class. Coach Westbrook and Coach Field's own thirst for knowledge and understanding is infectious. My eyes were opened to topics of study I didn't know existed. Just the awareness of this knowledge base helps me to hold firm in a room. But surely the biggest gift: I KNOW SO MUCH MORE OF WHAT I DONT KNOW. Whilst we as drama students can wince in the pain of our acting journey, all the Coaches at ACS strive to help you enjoy the process. They do this by helping to get past doubt and fear and all the BS that we might tell ourselves. There is no magic key or bullet to acting, but layers of knowledge and skill. ACS taught me this, through continuous challenge and building our resilience. The PD course is intense, very challenging and relentless. I consider myself lucky to have attended it."
"Been going here since May this year. I love it. The coaches are all so lovely. Tharan, Mark and Cat ( haven't met Nick ) Even Hayley the receptionist is lovely. Value for money is spot on £145 for 4 week course and I can guarantee you they are quality. Weather your looking for a confidence boost , want to brush up on some skills or pursue a career in acting ( me ) then book!"
