Reviews of The Alexander Graham Bell - JD Wetherspoon
"Alexander Graham Bell's is like a traditional pub, with a great ambience and good food. It's also very spacious. The staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. My friend who is a regular, told me that we were lucky, because later on it gets really busy. We had popped in mid-afternoon for a spot of lunch and some soft drinks. We came away very satisfied with the whole experience."
"Normally love this pub ,but the outdoor ice rink had set up right outside ....because of this the toilets were on the dirty side not the usual high standards from this establishment. Unfortunately we didnt stay for food like we normally do as there was people coming in from off the streets just to use the loo''s it was like sitting in a busy high street .Hopefully when I go to visit again in the summer it will be back to the lovely relaxed friendly pub that I have come to love."
"I had a good experience here. They have different varieties of alcohol and food. The place was very clean and tidy (including the washroom). It would be good if you reserved a table on a weekend before visiting the place because it's always bustling with people and there will be no space to sit."
"For what is referred as pub grub this was one better, I had Lemon and herb Chicken and it was perfectly cooked still moist and very tasty, the wife says hers was also tasty and plentiful she had the Chicken and bacon salad, and each meal comes with a drink of your choise whether you want alcohol or non alcohol included in the price."
"A nice chain of Whetherspoons quietly tucked away behind Princes St, a few mins away. Very popular but you can find a seat. My friend and I were in Edinburgh for the Bank Holiday Weekend - Aug 2022 and on Fri we wanted to catch a meal here but as we were in the centre of town, we didn't realise they close at 8pm. However we had breakfast here twice. Once on Sat morning and the other on Sun. The food can't be faulted. Service is quick and easy. Food is reliable and tasty. Prices are very reasonable too. Lots of options for breakfast, from a large traditional to a small plate - they do have breakfast muffins and wraps as well as other options and extras. Toilets are clean and plenty of loo roll. A great place to come to have a sit down meal with good service."
