Reviews of Barshaw Park
"Lovely view from the hill top and a great park for a wee stroll. Has a very very good playing area for kids (has a separate section for small kids). There is a section with free to use exercise machines, a beautiful small pond with some noisy swans and ducks. There is a cafe and restaurant option and you can grab a quick bite if you need to. Restroom facilities are available just near the entrance/car park. Overall a great park for short outing."
"Excellent facilities. Family oriented. Has a cafe with reasonable prices and food is acceptable. Porta cabin toilets were closed around 4pm last weekend so was disappointed. I love the lively swans, ducks, seagulls and pigeons. This is my favourite Park now. You could spend an entire afternoon here, with or without kids/dogs"
"Additionally to all amazing facilities for kids and exercises, has a hidden quiet corner!!!"
"The car park is an alright size but when we were there the park got busy at lunchtime and there weren't enough spaces due to how people parked. The toilets are beside the car park and in portacabins but there was only one working and there was no toilet roll in any of the cubicles. There is a food and drink place at the car park as well. There is a good selection of food on offer and ice cream as well just ignore the price list on the wall outside. The park has a great bike trail with plenty of jumps. There is also a training area for people learn about bike safety that's a really good size and well laid out. The kids play area is brilliant. It's very big and has lots of different things to play on. It is also split in to different age category. The exercise area has plenty of fitness equipment unfortunately some were broken but it was still good fun. The walk round the park is very easy and not strenuous and is a good place to take your dog for a walk. The walled garden are at the top of the park and it's got lots of seats and is nice and quiet.Nature corner is nothing like the picture you see. It's a building site is the only way to put it. Hopefully it's just temporary and will go back to the way it is in the picture. The pond is getting drained so is fenced off so can't walk around it. The model railway has a sign saying it is open in the summer only but doesn't give a date for when it's opening. There is good open spaces for a picnic or to play football, badminton etc but it on a hill."
"Great visit to this park quite big very surprised. Parking spaces available even when it was very busy. Little shop here to buy chips and hot dogs and ice poles etc. Great place for a picnic with the family. Big play park for the children, and swans and ducks were present also."
